    Hi guys,

So I've been cruising the threads over the last couple days looking to see if anyone has experienced a noise with thier 1st gen similar to mine. I've found a few that were similar stories but there was a detail or two off so I figured I would start fresh.

    The Noise:

When travelling in any gear over ~2000 RPM, a loud ticking is noticable coming from the engine compartment. Problem with trying to diagnose this is that you can't be touching the throttle at all or the noise will suddenly and completely stop. For me this is most noticable when I drop a gear to go down a large hill and am using the engines compression to maintain a desired speed. The more the RPMS increase, the louder the noise is but it seems to cut out or get too quiet to hear right around 2000 RPM.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like it mostly occurs during deceleration/engine braking? Could be a driveline issue.

Yeah that's the only time I am able to hear it. Figure it could just be a burnt ujoint or something else with the driveline?
