So I recently bought a 98' Tacoma and had to replace downstream O2 sensor but couldn't find the upstream. The previous owner had to replace the cat and old one was cut out and new one put in along with place for downstream sensor but I'm pretty sure they cut out the spot for the upstream and now there's no place to install a new one just solid exhaust pipe.

Looks like connector is about 6 inches before the cat does this location sound right to you guys?

Anyone have ideas for easy fix? You think exhaust shop can just replace section with a mount for sensor?

just find a junkyard y-pipe that runs between the manifold and the cat. It will have the mount on it and will be a bolt-on solution, way easier than trying to fabricate a mount.
