So I drove a 2014 OR for two years and traded it in for a 2016 Sport edition. I did some light to medium Off Roading but never ever once used my rear locker, didn't need to. Am I crazy to think I don't need the OR edition? I mean I'm not going to take this truck serious off Roading , I have my dirt bike for that. Love the truck but I can't justify serious off-roading in a 40k truck. I want this truck to last me 10 years.

I fell in love with the hood scoop. Call me dumb or crazy, the Sport just looks so slick! Just need a 3 inch lift with some 33 inch tires and this truck will go anywhere I personally am ok with it going and a skid plate. Trust me I have a lot of respect for the OR edition.

Just felt like I didn't need the OR.image.jpg

Nothing wrong with your choice. I just like the OR more. The locker is not the only reason though, the suspension ,IMHO is cushier on the OR.. Hell for serious offroading I'll be using my 4Runner anyway.. Truck looks awesome.. Grats!!!

Few people actually need the OR package. Most do it for the styling. You got 4 wheel drive so you should be covered. I wouldn't worry about it. Nice truck. Congrats!

Thanks, not trying to say I regret my decision but just what I was thinking when I bought.

Test drove the sport with the 6 speed manual. Almost cried when I gave back the keys.

being as 90% of the people who buy the offroad wont even use it to its full capability, it comes down to personal preference or even ease of mind knowing its there IF you need it. if you know you aren't planning on anything hardcore and prefer the styling of the sport, you made the right decision.

    Very nice ride.
    Is it an auto trans?
Wish we could get the DCSB Sport with auto trans in Canada.
I get truck envy whenever I visit the USA and see them.

I started with a 1984 pickup 22r engine , 14 yrs later and 180k miles . I then went to a 1998 2.7 liter , 10 yrs later 80k miles and a frame rust recall, score . Now I presently own a 2009 4.0 only 56k miles love it but the itch is coming back, especially after seeing your new truck. good luck with it.

Lot's of good off road traction in a Sport. Most OR trucks never use their capabilities I bet. The sport is more practical for your needs and a big plus for the non functional air scoop. Come on Toyota, how much would it cost to make it functional ?
