I think he was asking for 60 mph, not 60 km/hr. HTH.

I know for sure it was 60 MPH because my buddy followed me in his Torino, he's a really honest guy.

So impressed with this thread. 1st, I have not had an issue merging from an onramp. Accelerating but mindful that its still a new motor. 2nd, If I wanted a fast truck then I'd go find a Dodge SRT10 with the Viper motor. 3rd, If I feel the need for speed then I'll ride the Harley.
The truck has pretty good giddyup with the ECT button pushed.

I guarantee you the car and driver guys knew about the ect button and didn't use it during timed testing to help the Colorado look less shitty

But dude, are you a 'licensed' race car driver?!?!?!?.

I wonder at what time he'll go buy something designed for what he wants. 6.2? 6.5? 7.1? I don't really time myself crawling up a road in the desert.

    It's a truck, not a race car.

Not sure how I've survived 10 years with the 2.7L. Never felt in danger because it wasn't quick enough?

I safely slowed down while some oblivious driver pulled directly in front of me while I was doing 40 in a 35 with the rear drums.

Ouch, that's not great. I know there's a lot of factors to consider doing a test like this, but still seems kinda slow. I'm assuming ect was on?

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Im very curious to see the power band that uses Atkinson and Otto cycle. The 2FR-FSE has a nice and flat torque curve and this engine shouldn't be that much off. You should feel a very smooth and linear pull throughout the entire power band :notsure:

Thank you for actually running a test and posting up your findings; that's all I was looking for. I'm actually quite surprised it was that slow and I'm glad you tested in your BMW as a comparison.

I am already committed to buying my Tacoma so it is what it is at this point, but I am quite disappointed at how slow it seems to be. I will be doing my own test before and after the so-called break-in period just for my own curiosity and I will post up the findings for anyone interested.
