:sorry: Mike.... Can I borrow it if we get any more rain? A lot of places need one now. Have never seen this much water in this area before.

Not yet  I don't need it. But some do need it now. It's horrible in lower lying areas

I think an air boat might be better suited for you. Very worried about you and others.

As long as my trees don't blow down on my house from the winds (up to 30 mph) we're supposed to get, I should be ok. They're worried about the trees due to the very wet ground. I'm not flooded, so I'm very lucky or blessed. I hate seeing all the flooding pics :(

Trees aren't good near a house, hope they stay put. I think the big shallow rooted pines are the worse.
    :fingerscrossed: for you Sue.

 NO NO, not yet Mike------the fishing is just getting good.:)
When we started fishing the Delaware river, it was always in the fall and we targeted smallmouths. More than once, 3 of us went out there with 150 minnows and ran out of bait. We caught an occasional walleye here and there, but have since learned how to fish for them and do pretty well--SOMETIMES!
We fished for the smallmouths during the day and we fish for the walleyes almost exclusively at night, but they also can be caught during the day, especially from about now until ice up.

I have a long list for winter swap. Can't avoid it. The boat needs its sleep. Doesn't mean I won't fish. I have a couple of tournament guys I might go out with. I don't like tournament fishing. Absolutely no fun. So might hook up with one for another time or two. I have a rod and tackle in my truck at all times.
I had in my bike for a couple of weeks.

Getting ready for winter takes a lot longer for me now. Winter swapping is methodical and planned to a t. The shed is full all seasons. Just happens to have winter stuff and summer stuff at times. A place for everything and everything in its place. Harley goes to sleep in a few weeks. Next week another part of the list. I think the jeep will get its winter prep at the shop. Can't put the mowers away cause everything is still green and no leaves down. Going to happen fast I think. The end of the month will see some big changes......
I'm hungry and tired... What's for supper ?

Know the feeling! I thought I was pretty well caught up---NOT! :(
Telephone is making a crackling noise, guy came to fix it, still doing it so I have to get him back. Thought I was done mowing--nope! String trimmer fuel lines are shot, and need to be replaced. Need to order coal when the yard dries out, and be here for the delivery. Dental appointment, get ready for muzzleloader, winterize 3 of the 4 boat motors, clean and set up the furnace.
In between it's archery hunt, fish for walleyes, and the muzzleloader season.

    Nice!!

I think next to fire, drowning would be the worst way to die. It takes 2 minutes to drown.

At least it's not getting deeper. And you still have electricity!

I'm eternally grateful that I still have power and water and am not flooded out.... guess I'm getting a case of cabin fever

    Hey where is everybody???

Sue, I hope your house is okay. Cabin fever is better than no cabin!

Feel sorry for all of you getting stuff ready for winter. I for one, am so happy that winter is coming after all the heat & humidity we've had recently. It does look like it's going to be a very wet one this year though, but happily not as bad as SC.

    Sue,

Is there any way you can funnel some of that rain/water down here to the Texas Hill Country? We had a lot of rain in May and June, but basically NOTHING since then.

Hope the flooding doesn't impact you much. Glad you still have power and water.

    Tex

    I'm here!!! Hi Cheech

Thanks. My place is fine!! Can't say the same for alot of places or roads :( We got hit hard. I hear ya on the cabin fever vs no cabin. I am eternally grateful that my place / neighborhood was spared.

Tex, I wish I could funnel some of the rain your way... was thinking about putting in a LONG water pipe and send the water westward.

Flooding hasn't impacted me much - just have had to watch the water output, since the back yard was soggy and didn't need anymore. Very slowly going down.

I heard last night that the storm in SC was a "once in a thousand years" event, with 3 phenomena coming together to cause it. I guess that's what folks mean when they say that the phrase "may you live in interesting times" is actually a curse! Glad to hear you and your home are still well Susan.

    Morning all:
Also good to hear that you didn't get damaged by the storm Sue.

Hit the river last night, managed to catch 4 walleyes and had about 18 12-13" strippers. Possibly could have caught more walleyes, but between those small pesty strippers and the floating weeds that I was picking up on almost every cast it was tough fishing.

thanks Dave and I hope I don't see it again. Next time might not be so lucky. Guess it was our turn

Also hope I don't have to see/hear about so much stupidity  all the idiots (that's the nicest thing I can say about them) that are out taking pics when told to STAY PUT and the genius' that go around "road closed" barricades  and then need rescuing. There are two missing from last night http://www.wltx.com/story/news/2015/10/07/rescue-crew-search-people-missing-congaree-river/73501282/

Thanks Carl  sorry the fishing was so crappy, but sounds like a decent catch anyway :notsure:

    morning everyone
