OP here: I was at work and didn't check this thread until this morning, it is pure gold. And I completely agree with most of what y'all are saying!

He has a full size truck, meant to be a boat that can't get out of its own way. And I really don't want to tug of war but that's all he keeps saying, cause he knows as soon as we hit the trails, I'll be off to the races while he wonders why his front bumper fell off and his painted rims/tires can't get through a puddle of wate.

I was just curious to know if someone had put them back to back before, but I won't! Stupid idea and i won't ruin my truck doing that!

The resale is perfect though, cause my trucks worth my than I bought the stock truck for (due to aftermarket parts) and his truck already is worth nothing

Little hint. Truck pulls prove nothing. NOTHING. I've seen a 1000 HP Cummins pulled backwards by a gas job with a bale of hay in the back. It's all Weight+Torque+Tires=Win. Well, I wouldn't call it win since best case scenario you've put the equivalent of thousands of miles of damage on your trucks moving parts. Worst case you blow a differential on the pavement.

And reading some stuff cracked me up.... On a day to day basis, not a weeks worth of time a year, not every once in a while, not including a job or what your job entails, just normal use and fun, who hauls 5000+lbs? No one. I am yet to see ANYONE in my town hauling something with major weight except a Cummings pulling a horse trailer that's super long and heavy. All the chevy and ford owners never use more than a flat bed trailer with maybe a couple thousand pounds, which a tacoma will happily pull.

I just really crack up, the Corolla with a bed, heard that one too, yet a full size chevy can't get out of its own way and is scared of its shadow.

Anyone willing to possible ruin their truck to prove whether a chevy vs a tacoma, who would win?

This thread was very entertaining. It also raises some serious questions we should be asking ourselves.
First, what is "manhood"? Why is something such as "manhood" defined by material objects, or wealth? And who is it we are allowing to define what is and what is not? Is it proper that as grown men and women, we allow emotions and others to define and categorize such things?

I suppose that these are some relevant things to ponder. But cannot be imposed.

I haul 5000 lbs every time I go camping with the family. TT weight a fuck ton when you add in everything you usually carry with them.

It'd be a more fair comparison to compare and F150 with a Tacoma. The GM can't hold up like the Ford does IMHO.

I had a nice quote a while ago about this. Too many people attach there self worth or dick size to their vehicle, home, body, etc. You know who a real man is? Someone who gets up every morning, works hard, plays hard, leaves everything out there whenever he does anything, and takes care of his family. That's it.

Any 12 y/o with a rich daddy can have a 1 ton with stacks, 2500 square feet of emptiness, and a small penis.

Yes and no. I still camp with a tent with my Tacoma when I offroad. Hopefully sometime in the next 5 years I'll get a RTT for my Tacoma as well. When I first bought my TT I towed it with the Tacoma too and had several issues (high transmission temps, terrible mpg, and other small issues). Next vehicle the wife and I added to the fleet is a 2015 F150 V8. Better mpg then the Tacoma, better towing, and a better truck. That being said the Tacoma is a better offroad vehicle. It all depends on your definition of truck.

Haven't seen a good thread in a while, do the tug of war, then let the chevy guy sleep with your wife to prove he's manlier.

I can only imagine if a Prius gives those results what a good tug from a truck would do.

A full size truck is only compensating if you use a full size like you use a Tacoma or other sedan.

In other words 99% of full size truck owners are compensating.

Not in South Dakota anymore than I imagine they do in rural Northern California.

Or maybe I wrote that backwards. :bananadead:

Depends. If you use the truck 90% of the time for sedan stuff and 10% of the time for towing/hauling/dump runs then it's still worth it. That's basically what my wifes truck does. Plus her truck has 4x4 and more to it for when the weather gets bad around here.
