Call Toby 800-335-3987 tobytoyota@aol.com You might be able to turn yours in and use the refund to buy a less expensive ESC. if you Taco is still under Manufacturer warranty. Back in the Day Jerry from Midwest Toyota and Troy from Greenfield sold discounted ESCs online. They still sell them but you have to go to them.

I emailed him a while ago and these are his rates for a 2016 tacoma double cab trd

    6 year 100000 = $895
    6 year 125000 = $1140

    7 year 100000 = $1025
    7 year 125000 = $1250

    8 year 100000 = $1145
    8 year 125000 = $1505

All are Toyota Platinum warranties with a ZERO deductible.

does this look reasonable? I think if we don't use it after the factory warranty we can get a full refund. I was hoping for under a $1000 for the 125k at 6 years.

The issue is whether you are comfortable with or without it. It is insurance after all and the majority never files a claim. are you willing to take the chance in being in the minority that needs it?

    Rant over.

I bought the extended warranty when I bought my truck, after the lease was up. With the parts/repairs done so far, it's already paid for itself. And I still have 20k miles left!

I spoke to Toby the other day and he quoted me for my 2016 2wd dc sport w/ P+T

    7/100,000 $950

    6/75,000 $610

The latter is what I chose, it would be a first for me to keep a vehicle of anything close to 5 years. Who knows though, I'm really enjoying this truck !

Not too much, Toyota dealers are just expensive haha. alternator, battery, axle seals, AC blower motor, few oil leaks, TPMS sensor...But I do mob it pretty hard and often off-road.

Something to keep in mind which I have experience with a lexus computer failure. As I soaked up all the technology working in synchronicity it occurred to me all this technology and new engine utilized a lot of computer equipment to run. It take one piece of this to fail and leave your vehicle dead. I confirmed this with the service department, when a computer dies, the diagnosis + parts + repair is easily $2000 for this. I ended up getting the warranty to 75k. I think a big factor as well is if you plan to hold onto the vehicle for 7 plus years, should consider it. They also offer the service up front too and this will basically allow you to buy the scheduled services at half price and best bet is 55k as there is 2 major services between that time.

First...I've been following a lot of your post and comments and I want to thank you for all of the information you have provided! Second...can you give short run down of the maintenance schedule up to 55k. I'm thinking of doing the same as you with the extended warranties.
