Local dealer here in Nova Scotia is suppose to be receiving first load of tacoma's next week.
I will be buying one in the next few weeks. Will update with pictures when they arrive. Salesperson still has no idea on pricing, but estimates a few hundred more than 2015's. Time will tell

I'm excited to hear the salesman excuses to you and some of the other guys when the Tacoma is up by at least 3-4K.

Yeah, I received the the same story from a Sales Manager, just going up "a bit if anything". Looks like we will know the true story in about 1 week. I really don't think these sales guys are doing themselves any favours by understating the price increase by possibly a "few thousand dollars", and this seems to be a consistent story across the country...

I am OK with a $2000.00 increase over 2015 prices but I will be reassessing my decision to purchase if I am going to be looking at a $4000.00 to $5000.00 increase in price over the 2015's.

A price increase of that much pushes the truck well into a whole new category of trucks if your comfortable in spending upwards of $50,000.00 on a truck, which I am not. This truck will be pleasure use only, not a work truck, and as much as I would like to have one I will have to think on it before pulling the trigger on 50K worth of toy.

    Gotta love the Canadian Peso!

Which model are you looking at again?

I paid about 37K for my Tacoma. I think after everything was said and done it was just short of 40K financed IIRC. So if the average price goes up 4K from that I think a TRD Sport for 44K is livable.

However, that would make the limited 50K. Let's be honest, an F150 Lariat is about that at most after some table work, so I don't think I could live with a purchase like that unless I was in love with the limited.

Exactly what I am after, the Limited, so not looking good for a Tacoma in my future...

I don't follow new vehicle releases very closely but is it normal to see a 4K to 5K jump in a new model release?

Seems steep if your trying to move them...

Ford jumped the F150 about $4K on the sticker IIRC in 2015. No it's not normal but with inflation and a consumer economy it's not crazy either.

Funny thing, my brother is hammering me to buy a Ford, that's what he reuns in his fleet.

Looks at me like "WTF" when I say I like the Tacoma

DCLB TRD sport runs 39k after freight here. I am banking on a very little price increase. I will not spend 4-5k more for a similar equipped truck that is insane, considering the trim package does not come standard with a lot more than the 2015.

What was the price change in the states, keep trim and options the same?

You want double cab automatic? you get the long bed, it's been like this for years. Importing one from the US is always an option, despite the sagging loonie, I'm willing to bet it's still going to be cheaper than the prices set by Toyota Canada for equivalent models sold here. We'll find out on Tuesday.

We run mostly Ford at work too. They are a good truck but if you like the drive and size of a Tacoma it might be more truck than you want.

Price wise, well I got an F150 XTR XLT 4x4 with package 301A for about 41K. So it's definitely within the ball park of a Tacoma and that makes it hard, just on paper mind you, to justify the smaller truck.

About the only way I know of, legally of course, is to buy a used one and import it, that is about the easiest way to get around the bs.

Get ahold of a US Dealer and see if they have what you want that is being used as a demo and get them to sell it to you as used and your "in".

For about a year now we've actually been under US pricing with the dollar figured in.

~2K price change in the USA. It varied with the trim line of the truck. Some like the SR gained enough options that it barely moved in price at all. Others went up by ~3K. That's why I won't be surprised if TRD Sports, the most popular truck in Canada, moves by at least 3K.

    Sterdog,

    When your right, your right,

I swore off of North American Trucks after a very bad experience I had with a 1991 Chev Full Size Blazer that I purchased new but maybe it's time to let it go...LOL

I guess the ball is now in Toyota Canada's court.

I could be. No one but Toyota Corporate knows the real pricing for sure at this point.
