I searched to see if anyone has done a product review and came up empty so I will give my opinion on this air bed. First off I have seen this product prior to purchasing and that impression was the biggest factor for me to shell out the $$$.
I received the mattress in a timely manner from AutoAnything. First impression would have been "WOW" the material this is made out of is tough if i had not been subjected to the taunting by another member here. The material is a pvc nylon cloth that is abrasion and puncture resistant. There is two 2 way valves to ease in the inflation/deflation by the the supplied pump. It took around 1.5 minutes to fill it up and 30 sec. to deflate the first time.
The mattress fit my truck perfectly and could use it with the tailgate up or down. It took alot of me to let the $$ to go for a mattress but after spending almost as much on Coleman ones i figured it was about time to get one that will last more that several camping trips. Besides Coleman cannot brag that you could drive over their mattress and not effect it like Truck Bedz.

So, how did the mattress work out? Comfortable?

Looks like TruckBedz is out of the short mattresses and I can't find another. I went on a 3+ month trip last year and used a cot. It was a pain. Looking for a good mattress now.

The mattress worked out better than expected. I went on a week long camping trip in which i used it in both the truck and ground tent. Quick to fill and deflate and stayed inflated the whole time. You could kneel on it in the center and would not touch the ground. I think this will be the last mattress i will ever have to buy. So worth the money. I was able to get mine thru AutoAnything and even applied a 20% off coupon code. As far as comfort goes I would say that it is more comfortable than the average inflatable mattress in fact that it did not seep air out during the night.

    Thanks for your reply.

Is this the TruckBedz mattress you got (from your pictures it looks like you have a short bed) from AutoAnything? Right now AutoAnything only has the mattresses for long beds.

    tcsb_green_400_x_543__33532.1417557205.1280.1280.jpg

I looked on TruckBedz and they are out of stock on this mattress above.

So, I did some searching and I found *what looks like* the same mattress above on TruckCandy.

Unfortunately, they don't have a SKU number for me to verify it's the right mattress, but it does say TCSB. They give me the option to select my truck (2009 - Toyota - Tacoma) and they give me these 2 options:

    Screen Shot 2015-09-03 at 4.20.49 AM.jpg

Based on this, I can deduce I need the 1st one (TCSB) from TruckCandy.com since I'm in a short bed. Sidebar: I want the same mattress you have: the Expedition vs the Weekender.

Any info you can give would be most appreciated! I already have a truck tent and I used camping pads and a cot last year. I was sliding all around that damn cot on that camping pad. I'm looking for a simple and easy solution and after your review I think this mattress is the solution!! :)

Any pics of your set up would be most welcome.

    Thank you so much!!

Oh. Also, do you mind checking out my reply to this post on page 5 (at the bottom)?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/air-bedz.227956/page-5

Another member here seems to have an AirBedz mattress in his short bed (base on his pictures). Those mattresses are made for the 6ft beds or bigger. I'm just curious to know how he made it fit over the wheel wells.

Someone else said he had to return the same one because he had a short bed and it didn't fit.

Do you know anything about this? The original post was older so I'm not sure if I'll get a reply.

    Thx.

If you have the short bed you need the one pictured above (same one my brother "Lurp" has) I on the other hand have a long bed so i got the other one. I don't really have any pic's of it in the truck, But can tell you it is one tough SOB. I had to actually let out some air as it was way too firm the first night. I will check out the other post

Edit: per the other post, the mattress is made to fit over the top of the wheel wells.. Truck-bedz has one like it that the call the "Gold Series".

    Hey thanks for your reply.

I called both TruckCandy & AirBedz yesterday.

Right now TruckBedz is completely out of stock of the short bed mattress (both expedition & weekender). When I called TruckCandy they said that TruckBedz will not have any short bed mattresses until next year (Spring time) -- so even though it looks like they have mattresses online, they do not.

I called AirBedz and talked to the owner, Jim. He said they do not have a bed made specifically for the 5ft bed. I mentioned the picture of the 5ft bed in that other post I showed you. He believes the truck owner jury-rigged the AirBedz mattress and it's slightly raised up at the head of the mattress. Like I said, AirBedz doesn't make a mattress for the 5ft bed; however they do make one that would perfectly fit in, say, your truck bed, because their smallest mattress is designed to go above/around the wheel well.

Good news though... Jim said there is so much demand that next year AirBedz plans on producing a mattress for a 5ft bed truck bed!!!
So...if your brother or other friends wants a mattress for their 5ft bed then next year they'll have 2 choices: AirBedz and TruckBedz.

Thank you again for all your help. This conversation inspired me to look around more.

    Take care. ~Ely

That is good new's that they are going to make one for short bed's. I got mine in the spring also so maybe Truck-bedz only produces certain time a year? I did however use a coleman twin mattress until the truck-bedz became available. It wold fit perfectly between the wheel well's of my truck again, they did not hold up for very long (2-3 uses).

So maybe I missed it, but if you buy the one made for the short bed, does it go to the end of the bed or all the way to the end of the tailgate? Because a 5 foot mattress is not big enough for me Haha

It goes to the end of the tailgate in the lowered position. IIRC it makes it 6.5 feet long

I had one for a while, until I got a dog. Keep their nails trimmed. It may be different because I have a Saint Bernard (100+ lbs when he popped it). But just be aware that it can happen. I loved the mattress though.

Did airbedz give you any idea when they would be coming out with one for the short bed?

Bummer, what number did you call to get in touch with Jim? I'm thinking about seeing if we can find an exact date of when they will be out and maybe setting up some sort of deal with him so that has people over at Tacoma world can get first dibs. I'm sure that we can put together some sort of group by and there's got to be a ton of interest for people with the short beds to have something like this.
