have not been on here in a while...mainly stay on xru, but we just got the new taco soooooo...

well my wife decided she wanted back in a truck again. she missed the xr, which was her daily for years before handing it down to me a year or so ago. we got her a new 2014 mustang in grabber blue (in the background of pic) but after a while she just wanted out of it. she orig wanted a vette...glad i didnt pull the trigger on that or else i would be out a ton more money [IMG]

anyways we checked out the new nissan desert runner & a chevy colorado that was similar to an xtreme, but she knew that the tacoma was what she really wanted to get even though it cost quite a bit more than the other trucks we looked at.

the new taco is totally redesigned inside and out and though its not quite my style i dig it. i think an xr with the new body shape would be pretty cool, but the sales guys didnt think there was any such thing.

well here is a pic the day we got it. i will get more later and report back on all the in's and out's of it if anyones interested.

That silver on the new tacomas is really sharp. It shows the body lines off great. The black wheels enhance the color even more. Very nice truck.

thanks for the compliments guys. yes its a texas ed. was the first and only 2016 taco they got in so far. i waited a few day to see what the ft worth dealer got in. they eventually received 2, both in magnetic gray. we liked the silver a lot better, so opted for it plus got a discount.

i got $500 discount off initially plus i them to come down a little more...not sure what the exact amount was right off because we kept fiddling with the trade, interest, etc till i got the payment i wanted. the toyota dealer in ft worth would not come off sticker price at all. they were too new and and would have no problems getting the asking price is what i was told.

david sounds right...a younger guy. he drove a 2015 taco in magnetic gray.

i talked to another salesman on the phone a day or two before i went there. he was the one who said there were no discounts.

I guess things are changing on a daily basis right now as inventory ramps up. They have a taco advertised with a $1400 discount and $500 factory incentive which started 10/1. See http://www.toyotaoffortworth.com/new/Toyota/2016-Toyota-Tacoma-1ab6ec940a0e0ae809a0a433cf1a8178.htm

Of course it's a Texas Edition so it's already over priced, but now there is leverage to get more.
