Worst idea ever. I get that they're more sanitary, but I loathed using them when I had to.

We nearly had one. Pontiac was readying the G8 ST prior to being closed down. I believe someone is actually importing and/or legalizing them somehow.

I think when the time comes for a 4-door, I'll be in a 3rd Gen Tacoma. A full size is just too big of a truck for me. I understand at this point it's not a half-bad option, but it's just too much truck for me.

Do it yourself. If you've got a compressor, you can get a kit from Kellsport that gives you a sprayguy and Fluid Film. If you don't, get a gallon of Fluid Film from Grainger and a few of the aerosol cans and go to town under the truck. It should cost you less than $100 from Grainger. Just ewear clothes you don't care if you ruin.

I've done my truck 3x now and just got the Kellsport kit last season from Pugga last season which made the whole process 10x easier but I did it the first two years by hand and had excellent results.

I forget the name, but I saw a prototype or maybe an Aussie one that was a Lumina back in the day

I don't know how big your house is but $250/mo is way less than the gas bill in my little rental house in the winter

Do the panels melt the snow off the roof?

Not sure, if I recall it's a supercharged V8 and puts out a lot of power.

Man, listening to you guys gives me another reason to be glad I don't live in MA, I guess.
My power bill has been averaging $50-$70, I burn about 200 gallons of oil a year for hot water and supplemental heat, and I burn about $400 worth of wood. This year we just added the pellet stove (and it's wired to a thermostat set 2 degrees higher than the boiler), so I'm curious to see how that will affect how much wood and oil I burn. :notsure:

If you get the full stink model it's got basically the same engine as the new Corvettes (that supercharged 6.2 lump)

Speaking of overseas stuff, we could solve all our problems if we move to Australia. I was drooling over the selection of diesel trucks they had, heck they even still make the ranger there.

The Aussies have got some pretty sweet cars, for sure. Wouldn't want to live there, though. Everything is trying to kill you.

I'm still waiting for Ford to bring the Ranger back with a twin turbo 4 banger. They probably won't because their F150 sales are doing so well but it would be neat. I had 2 Rangers and liked them. I considered one in 2007 before I bought the Tacoma. I decided against it because they got rid of the 3.0L V6, the 4.0L was a gas hog and very unimpressive in the power department. I even test drove the FX4 level 2 with the tall gearing and thought it was a dog.

But it's not a fixed cost that's the problem. You are talking about a grid tied system I am sure, especially if you want the federal incentives. So understand that while you may pay 12 cents per kw, they might only pay you 3 cents for that same kw back into the grid. And when power prices rise, you don't necessarily make out on the deal because delivery costs rise as well. I'm just saying that it's not as simple as it seems at first, because if it was everyone would be doing it. Full disclosure, it was 4 or 5 years ago that I seriously considered all this myself, so maybe you will come to a different conclusion than I. I hope so really. But after 6 months of very serious research I determined that although there were potential benefits possible, it took too long to realize them and nothing was set in stone. What happens if your chosen career changes and you are forced to move for some reason? What happens if you get roof leaks? What happens if you need another 220 line for charging an electric car in 5 years? There are too many variables and there is something to be said about putting the burden of making and delivering power on someone else.

You should go. It's the kind of place where you don't have to worry about leaving the resort
