I figured the weight difference would be much more but according to Toyota website the weight difference in the two is only 60 lbs. If Toyota offered the DCLB TRD OR with manual I would put one of my kidneys on Craigslist right now.

Did you forget to take out your butt vibrator? I noticed a few mounting issues with bumps and such and that's when I checked the tire pressure... 36psi when its supposed to be 29. 300 miles on the DCLB Sport and no shimmy. The rear end was solid in the rain Sunday. Not even a hint of traction loss(unlike my 08 Taco).

As for the original post, It takes a little getting used to parking as you have a few extra inches but I have been doing OK. Not like the Wifes Saraha though. What! no parking... just park in on the hill!!!! LOL

No butt vibrator. My statement stands. It was validated by everyone in my party. Just as a tuning fork vibrates more the longer each prong is, the shimmy is more pronounced the longer the rear of the vehicle is (when not grounded by weight).

Given your posts about riding Harley's I could imagine that you may not have as sensitive a butt as most people given the vibrations you feel from a motor between your legs. (Oh and the amazing sound of the exhaust)

Well it seems right now that the 4x4 OR Long Bed is rare. This may cause me to use a diffrent approach to purchasing a 4x4 DBL CAB LB fully loaded. I understand that most of the OR LB 4x4 are on the west coast and mid west. Is that assumption correct? If so, I think I would have a better chance in having my son who lives in California to order it for me and then I fly out there to pick it up and drive it back to Maryland. I wont have to pay those Ca state taxes of 9.5%. Also I have always been wanting to travel accross country in my own personel ride.

What do you folks think? Do you think I would have a better chance in obtaining one in CA or should I just wait for the 2017 Tacomas

Maybe go to a state with no sales tax on new cars?

Makes no difference. I am still going to have to pay MD state tax when I get it home.

Chaboi, actually quite the opposite. The Harley makes you more aware. It's quite smooth at high speeds. You know when and how it vibrates. One wrong vibration at the wrong time makes for an immediate investigation...LOL. could have a screw loose....but that's beside the point!!!!!

Not sure why it's called "long bed" because its a normal bed, like every generation truck before the DC entered the market. I went from a 06' AC to a 09' DCSB and sold it after a month then bought my current 12' DCLB. SB isn't functional enough for most needs. As for the high clearance issue, I've seen shorter wheel base vehicles not make sections that longer wheel base ones could and vice versa. It depends on the terrain, approach angles, clearance, lockers, etc... If I wanted a rock crawler, I'd buy a Rubicon. Also, a DCLB doesn't take up two spaces in any parking lot. Lift it with 33's and it won't look like a limo. Just my .02

A dealer that knows what they are doing can "order" what you want. Its really not an order they just have one of their allocations awaiting build changed to your specs. I had that done for a TRD Sport DCLB with the tech package and no JBL. The plus on that is I also told them not to put any of the added crap I didnt want (floor mats) or dealership stickers. And no tag bracket in the front when it arrives, because I think it looks terrible. Plus MD legislature was supposed to have changed so that if your vehicle has no front tag bracket you arent required to have a tag there
