Agreed. If they aren't willing to deal near invoice someone else will be. Look around and travel if you need to. The deals are out there. All of these greedy dealerships will soon realize that instead of only making $800 or so on the deal they're going to make $0 and have less sales. With the forums and all the new tools available to buyers these days, it isnt hard to find a dealership that will be willing to play ball

So is this tda fee legit? My dealer in the Dallas area told me they would sell at invoice. I went in yesterday and the invoice price was 900 more then what I saw online due to this fee. My sales guy said he would split the difference so now I'm at 450 over invoice which is pretty good I guess but I still don't want to be had if this fee is not legit. Thanks.
On a side note I thought for sure I would order the double cab sport edition 4x4 but I actually liked they way the O/R model looked more.

Yes unfortunately. TDA fee varies by dealership but they all have it hiding in there. Some will budge off it, others wont. At least they split the difference. I am gonna try and get my dealer to split their dealership fee

Should TDA fees be listed on the window sticker?

I agree. Never let anyone take advantage of you like that. You are a pushover if you do.
Tell them no and I bet he'll back right off the price hike. Don't fall for the BS.

Here is what I saw yesterday. Not the model I wanted (I'm looking for a 4x4 OR SB).

This offer was for model 7560 (2x4 sport access cab LB) with tow package as the only upgrade.

    0f631e9b9801f419a3071715b3c74074_dbdf866fead9f48899da460f6eae33f26ba96386.jpg

According to the master price list, I calculate that MSRP on this truck should be $31,7110 ($31,060 plus $650 tow).

So... Their factory retail list is $3124 over MSRP and their "best price" is $2,728 OVER MSRP. Maybe they will negotiate, but I didn't waste time since it wasn't the truck I wanted.
I can't believe that they are selling these with those crazy prices.

TrueCar is not what they used to be. First of all they don't have Toyotas MSRP because MSRP differs by region and the local dealer adds $1295 in mop and glo and adds that to the MSRP so when you go bouncing in with your TC Certificate it applies to amount off the DEALER'S MSRP which may be $1300 HIGHER to begin with and higher because the region throw $300 mats and $699 ToyotaCare on the truck before it gets to the dealer...

The ONLY way to buy a vehicle today is control the deal. Get a real trade value from CarMax. or assume the lower part of KBB "good" It makes no sense to get an inflated trade number to make you belive you are getting a good price on the new vehicles. Don't budge fro your trade number and offer X$$ over invoice for theirs. Control the deal.

Problem is people think their trade is worth more wholesale than it is. It's not and never will be no matter what they show as a "trade offer""

IT WILL NEVER BE MORE THAN ACTUAL CASH VALUE on their books. Never. They are inflating the sale price if they do. The difference between wholesale and retail on a Tacoma is huge. Which is why I never trade and always sell. But there is no tax advantage to trading here so i don't have to take that into consideration. Sales Tax is capped at $300.

Get the KBB LOW GOOD value and Invoice price of the new vehicle (Don't go for the Hold back) Offer Invoice or above. Don't let them do the four square thing on you. I walk when I see that piece of paper. The best time to buy a car (or look for a job) is when you don't NEED one.

Did they accept that 33,450? Sounds like a pretty good deal to me-

I currently own a Black 2011 DCLB TRD Sport with 78k miles and my dealership has been emailing me quite frequently to come and look at the 2016s...so I finally budged and have to say they are very nice.

I test-drove one and it felt very nice and decided I would inquire about trading mine in.

Day 1: They showed me a Magnetic Grey DCLB Sport and offered me a trade in value of 20k. I explained that I want the refund on my Powertrain warranty (apparently was lied to saying I would get it full refunded if I didn't use it) which ended up making me work with one of the managers instead of the sales guy.

Also asked about options and if there is a way to get dual A/C but he said the Tacoma does not have that. I had not done my research yet but trusted he knew what he was talking about. After some negotiating was finally to work out a price of $16500 (all fees included) with the 5 year warranty. They upped my trade in to $23500 and it is paid off so ok with me. Payment of $199 a month.

I took the offer and went home.

Day 2: Found out about the premium technology package and canceled the truck. Told them what I wanted and also decided black is better for me. They could not find a Sport but could find a Limited. The guy told me it would be long bed also...I was skeptical but went with it. Took me to $225 a month.

Day 3. Texted the manager and told him limiteds don't come in LB so he called everywhere to find the specific truck I wanted. Kept exact same deal we negotiated for the Limited so now my payment will only be $191 a month. Includes Cover, premium package, all weather mats, and some charging cable package that I don't necessarily care about. Also the 5 year warranty.

Will definitely pay off sooner but nice to be able to work out a deal like that. Now if only Oct 23rd will hurry up!

That's not a good deal. It isn't even a long bed. The invoice for that is around 31k
