i have seen the posts about the pdm fix for TOB. 2014 tacoma 60,000 miles. the squeak showed up a few weeks ago. i brought it to the dealer and they will replace the bearing! Is there an official document from Toyota describing the procedure. bigfro had a great wright up on this. Im looking for some ammo to bring to dealer on this issue. i put aprox 50,000 miles a year and want it fixed right.

If they've agreed to fix it, why would you take them 'instructions'? It's not like they don't have them. Or that they would use yours.

Or am I misunderstanding what you are looking for?

I think yours is the first occurrence of a TOB noise in a 2012+ I've heard of, with the redesigned components. The TSB from toyota on the issues only covers 2011 and prior models, the procedure is to update the bellhousing, pivot, release lever, bearing and slave cylinder to the current designed components. Yours should be a simple replacement of the bearing and an inspection of all related components.

I'm heading to dealer today to set up appointment for replacement. i guess i was looking for the most recent work instruction to see if anything has changed. ill ask them if i can have a copy. They need to open it up, and if inspection finds grooved or damaged quill i just assume they install the pdm kit. hopefully they let me take pictures. thanks for the input.

it is unlikely they will change the transmission bell housing. they only changed the bearing on mine and greased everything.
