2014 double cab with 12k miles. Just today I noticed a little bit of a bulge on the side of the battery toward the very top. It's just under where that bracket bolts down on top of the battery to secure it in place. Due to the location, It looks like it could have been caused by that bolt being tightened too much. But man, I can't imagine anyone cranking that down so tight as to make the battery bulge. The plastic is fine, but it actually looks like the lead in the battery is dented or something.

I've taken it out only one time- to replace a headlight bulb. The only other time it's been out was at my 10k service when I asked the dealer to look under the battery because i noticed a little blue liquid on the plastic tray under the battery.

I'm guessing the blue liquid was just something leftover from the touchless car wash blasting through the grille, but I wanted them to check the battery as long as I was getting the service done. Anyway, is this bulge anything to be concerned about? I hadn't yet noticed it when I had them take a look.

housing could be compromised..... I'd have it replaced, and in this instance it should be warrantied for manufacturer defect

Pics would help too...... If the top keeper was cranked down too much, I wonder if the plastic would crack instead..... Just a thought
