What's up guys I'm really glad to be back on Tacoma world after a little hiatus

I regrettably sold my 06 off-road and picked up a 91 pickup to drive everyday. i started searching for my next Tacoma

A friend of mine had a 1995.5 Tacoma trd for the longest time and I always ask if he would ever sell it. I always got a hell no or quit asking.

Well a couple years ago he started to do a v8 swap into the truck. all the drive train came out and a ls engine showed up. that's where he quit(thank god)

So there the truck sat. no engine no trans just a pile of parts in his garage

Last week he finally tells me "I'm gunna sell the Tacoma"

So after discussing for a little while the Tacoma was finally mine!!!! Whwoooo

We trailered it home last night and started sifting through some of the parts. along with the truck came: 2 complete 3.4 engines, 2 a340 auto trans, 1 j-stick t case, 1 push button t case, a trd supercharger(1st gen grey) and trd headers not to mention a whole bed full of nuts, bolts, wiring, brackets and who knows what else

I intend to get the truck put back to its former glory and get it back on the road

Super pumped to share the journey with you guys pictures soon to come don't worry

Why did you go from 06 to 91?

    I'm looking forward to it

I wanna keep the 3.4 and super. v8 isn't rally my style plus it cost a lot more

I sold the 06 to get rid of the truck payment and found the 91 for cheap just for a daily it's a little 2wd 22re 5speed with a flatbed gets great mileage and it was easy on the wallet

I've never driven the 22re. How is it, these days? Is it fast enough on the freeway? Also, is there any difference between the interior from going 91 to 95.5?

It's nice a peppy for my liking it's no sports car but it gets around ok. It is fast enough for the freeway but with the 5speed you gotta rev it a little 70mph in 5th is at 3k rpm so I try and avoid long distances

besides the bench seat and vinyl flooring in the 91 there's not really major changes the cluster dash doors all seem to have interchangeable parts but that's just my impression

My 2001 stays steady at 3kRPM at 70 too. But I have the 3.4.
If I ever find the right one, I'm thinking of trading my Tacoma for an 85 4Runner with the 22re. Thanks for the input!

Edit: my bad. At 70mph, the RPM is at about 2500.
