Oh man, I think a cart is in my future. Never thought I'd see the day. I'm hooked.

Honestly, the yellow ones should be able to replace or come damn near any spray-on cleaner, at least for the inside. Use on windows after cleaning with terry... I do like the detail cart, though. And good choice on the dual towels, by the way.

The cart is awesome no more running back and forth just bring it with you and you have everything a reach away. I do a full detail on my truck once a month and wash and quick wax every two weeks. I also detail a few cars on the side for a little extra cash. Cart + Costco microfiber + Chem guys and Magiuers = money!!

Nice. Let us know how it releases grit and debris.

    Lots of OCD itt.

I wash & wax my truck sometimes. It's a damn truck, not a exotic car.

The Costco MF-er's are just fine. Nice and plush after a wash, work great on the Windows- very little/no lint on the glass. I've been using them for spray wax- works great for that too. I can't see a reason to spend more $$ for mf towels on a DD.

Yeah it's a damn truck. I happen to like detailing vehicles even if it is a damn truck. Maybe it is OCD or maybe it's taking pride in your investment. Doesn't matter what the vehicle is it should be taken care of.

I don't have a garage so the grit and debris thing is a big deal. The Adam's towels I have are probably three years old and hold ZERO debris. I don't recommend this but they can be dropped on the ground and shook out for use. I have used many other towels than when they hit the ground, they go in the garbage or for engine bay. For what I spent at other places for basically several one time use microfiber, I could have bought a quality towel from Adams or TRC.

I am doing more vehicles than just my own. So I need the better product. Especially when trying to avoid swirls.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "hold debris". I did dust off my truck with a Costco towel last night before spray waxing. When I do this, I don't "rub" or "wipe". I just grab a corner of the towel and sort of flop and toss it around on the surface until I've covered the whole thing. It grabbed all the dust and I could see it on the towel when I was done. It left the surface completely free of particles. But I haven't been dirty enough to do a wet wash with one (mud/dirt/etc). PM me your address and I'll drop one in the mail if you'd like to try one. If I dropped one on the garage floor it would certainly go into the disposable rag pile.

Ha yeah a lot of us really get into detailing. It's kind of a hobby. And some of us do it for a little extra spending money. Making money doing something you enjoy... Double the satisfaction!

(Sorry, I can't send one to everyone!)

I was using some of the CG towels with a detail spray. Since I have to work outside, every once it a while the towel will pick up stray dirt particle or something. Those towels will not release particles. Even after washing they are still locked in the knit.

Ah, now I know what you mean. Yeah that's a concern of mine too. I'll let you know how they come out after washing.

Update on the Costco MF's. They've been through several washes and are holding up just fine. Until today, I only used them for spray wax and liquid wax buffing/removal.

Today I used them for a waterless wash with Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Concentrate (Autogeek $39.99 for 64oz, which will make literally gallons of waterless wash- it makes the equivalent of twenty-four 16oz bottles). You can dilute it for waterless washing, which I did. I was amazed at how well the Costco MF released the dirt. I've read that the uber is particularly good at rinsing dirt out of towels, so I can't say that it was entirely the towel at play. I think it was a combination of the two products. After my first towel, all 8 of the folded portions were visibly soiled. The towel was soaked after making the 8 passes. And then I wrung it out before grabbing another towel, only to realize the towel was substantially cleaner- I was able to use it again (on rockers, bumpers). I like to switch to clean towels for hoods/upper portions. But my point is, the combo worked really well. Impressed with the Uber, too. Slick, and it left a really nice gloss (it can also be mixed in a dilution ratio for use as a detail spray). This stuff is a good bang for your buck. Seems expensive initially, but you literally get several bottles of product for multiple uses. Oh, and it smells like cherry bubblegum :)

These look like interesting options. 10 for $17.95. I ordered some and will report back.

I couldn't decide between these edge less ones and the ones with the black trim (at left). I ended up choosing that edge less. Both are 420gsm. Same material, I'm guessing.

My only complaint with the Costco towels is that occasionally I find one little speck along the edge of a towel that is really hard- like a tiny pin head sized melted spot that would certainly scratch a clear coat. Looks to be just a result of the trimming process. I'm really careful about making sure the edges aren't getting swiped on the paint. But, it'll happen eventually. But for the price, they're a winner- check all the edges and if you find any with a scratch-hazard, use it for something else.

Glad to hear you are having success with the Costco yellow MF towels. I've seen reports both ways. So far I have only used them with detail spray and on windows. Haven't noticed any swirls induced by them. I use two buckets and Optimum No Rinse. I'll give them a try for the wash next time around. Pollen is a bitch right now. I'll have to take a look at the Wolfgang Uber.

Lots of Uber Fans over on Autogeek. It's a multiuse product. I think that's part of the attraction. And it does everything well. Here's the beading from today's rain after my waterless wash with Uber. It does leave some polymer protection
