haha, I appreciate the motivation, believe me, I am motivated. We just sent the final payment for the truck earlier this week, it was a considerably larger payment than normal, but the truck is mine now! :) I need to wait a little and recover from that last payment first.

Nice, I've had to fire mine up a few times now too. Glad you like them!

Right on, just let me know when you are ready and we can get you set up. Shipping is free to Alaska too  Also congrats on paying off the truck!

That was fast! The mirrors I send out priority service, only works out to be a couple bucks more than standard.

Sounds like serious business lol :laser:

Ok, I am going for it. I watched the very informative video on door panel removal, have it uploaded to my phone. I have the instructions printed off, have read through three times.

I think I am ready as can be - except I am on call to the ER this weekend, might get interupted...

    Time check, I'm going in.

Interesting, can't say I've noticed that before on mine... Although I don't get very much in the way of fogged up windows, mostly frost. It could be the factory uses suction cups during part of their process and it's left some sort of residue. I know you said you cleaned them already but residue and heat are the only things I can think that would cause an absence of fog.

If you park in the same spot every day you wouldn't happen to have something that may be reflecting a small beam of light onto your mirror?

Can't imagine it being the heating strips either as they don't grid in a circular shape...

It is what is, was just curious as to what it might be. My driveway is always shaded so no beams of light brother. Might order 2 replacement mirrors and see if they come with that on it.

It might not hurt to try another pair of mirrors if you have a local dealership. Either the replacement set will work and you could return the other pair if they are faulty, or you have the same result and you can return them as you didn't need them.

It has me a bit stumped for sure though. Worse case scenario if you can't get to the bottom of it and it is a deal breaker for you I can accept a return and I'll make sure you aren't out of pocket. I suspect it may have something to do with the mirror glass itself so trying a different pair is probably a good place to start.

Negative on the return to you bro. Like I said it is what it is, just strange. It goes away real quick once turned on. My Taco has heated mirrors now, I can live with that spot that goes away once warmed up.

"A bit tricky" when fishing a wire tie through the cab to door flex tubing must be polite canadian idiom for what US sailors call a "goat cluster" when females are present.

It can test your patience for sure... Some people have thrown a bit of lube on the zip tie itself and said it helped. Can't imagine it's any harder than a tracheotomy ;)

I pulled both wires far enough that all the heat shrink and a bit of the nylon wrap was sticking out of the door, assemled the mirror on the hood. Once i had the mirror bolted back onto the door i reconnected the mirror power and ran the mirror adjust from the drivers seat. It was all good. The heat shrink on the business wnd of my new wiring ended up about two inches below the connector for the power mirror adjust.

I leftabout two inchesof extra cable in the door just in case, but the relay on the other end of the pax harness reaches the sill of the drivers door, shoul be fine.

One unavoidable 30 min interupt to deduct from my time if you are deeling charitable.

Also, i pulled the 6x9 speaker from the bottom of the door, well worth it to route the cables inside the door so easy.
