Was talking to a local farmer this morning. He has a 2010 Tacoma 4wd. Yesterday he was moving his disc and while doing that the disc caught the left side of his truck. The whole left side is ripped open. I have not seen it but his insurance agent said its totaled. He is going to call his agent to see if he could buy it back.

Now I was wondering about buying a 2wd Tacoma with a good body and install it on the 4wd frame. Are the basic bodies the same? What are the major issues with this type of swap?

Basic bodies seem to be the same but the swap would include everything that isn't sheet metal. In other words the dash, wiring, brake lines, etc. If you have a year to spare....

Talked with Ray (Tacoma owner) this morning. He settled with his insurance company. I did not get it bought. They only wanted $7000 for the totalled out truck. He did comment about getting virtually the same amount he paid for it new.
