Congrats Scott. Nice to see she went to a guy you can appreciate instead of some random jackass with money and a hard on.

Ha! More than asking price FTW.

Now go buy a real truck with that money. I hear there's a dude with a nice first gen he just picked up for $14k. Offer him $16k.

    So this is Bob.

Retired, Navy vet, and avid Jeeper and car nut, and his first wheeling experience at 10 years old was in an FJ40 with a small block Chevy. He has seen some rough times, has suffered (and is still suffering from) some very serious ailments, has the scars to prove it, and had some hard luck. His wife and he are currently staying in an extended stay hotel on insurance after they lost everything to the disastrous Butte Fire in the Sierra Foothills a month ago. He has done very well for himself, retired, and had a nice large house and big garage and shop and a couple Jeeps and a really nice mustang and a machine shop and all that is now ash and molten metal. To top it off, after that, he got rear ended in his Jeep Cherokee after the fire, and it was totalled. He's been looking for a solid Tacoma just to get his stuff and dog and life sorted back out as the insurance claims and all that settle out and he and his wife figure out what they are going to do next. He and his wife have their own business and have done fine financially, but man, this is really shitty for him right now. He was sick and tired of people trying to sell him trucks that were not only "as advertised," but outright deceptive.

I advertised in on Craigslist for $14k, figuring it would give me some wiggle room so everyone can leave happy. He said I have no problem paying your full price if your truck is all you say it is, I'm not going to haggle over a few hundred bucks. I gave him a box full of brand new spare coolant hoses, belts, and other stuff worth maybe a couple hundred bucks that I was going to try to sell separately, but said fuck it. He appreciated every bit. Even spare bulbs. "Oh, cool, thanks!"

I told him how I wish I could save it for my son, but 16 years is a long way away, and that just wasn't practical. He said "let's keep in touch."

I found a good buyer, he found a good seller. He's happy. I'm happy. And it helped feeling like I provided something that would help him start rebuilding.

    The end. Perhaps.

    Great stuff.

Hit me in the feel goods. Glad it went his way, I'm sure you are too. Also, cash money.
