Heaviest duty side steps

Are there any sliders or side steps that you can use a hi-lift on and not ruin the steps/sliders that don't come from one of these fabrication shops that take forever to ship out?

 

@sidetracked Sold me some Trail-gear sliders and was pleasant to work with. They are already built and ready to ship most of the time and are just as beefy as anything else. I am satisfied with them.

 

Honestly you are better off to wait for something from a fabrication shop. I haven't seen anything mass produced that is built as strong as a fab shop. Do it right the first time instead of spending extra dollars the second time.

 

I figured that and have come to that conclusion. But you know how these forums are you think you have seen it all then someone goes "check these out" and you wonder how you haven't seen those before lol.
As far as bolt-on's go shipped I'd be looking at what like 600 bucks for a good set?

 

I paid under 300 shipped for my bolt on set. You can look at the specifications and see that it's just as thick, and of the same material as any other vendors. I have used a hi-lift on mine and the held up just fine, and I also put jackstands under the sliders when working. My only complain is that I had to drill a lot of holes in the frame. It doesn't lower the integrity, is just a PITA if you're doing it alone. If I were to not weld them on I would save the money for a 100% true bolt on set that requires no drilling.

If you don't mind paying more than that, yes bolt on does usually cost a good bit more and there is a vendor section on TW where you can see all of the vendors and their sites.

SOS concepts full bolt on sliders and call it done, SOOOO glad i got mine!

 

Have some made locally and don't pay shipping...

Edit: If you need sliders, then you also need to know a local welder/ fabricator.

People around these parts can't make anything I'd be happy with to bolt on my truck, the ones that do would ask for way way more than these you can find like from SOS or Relentless

 

I'll bet there are some good 'ol boys who do real nice work over there. You have a 2009, why bolt them on? I'm having some built and we're going to weld them on my 2012. Bolt on brackets and the extra measuring (for zero drill) costs money. You want good and cheap. I'll bet you could get nice ones made, painted and welded on for $200. You can even help design them. I'm doing wide tube stock so my sliders are true steps which function as sliders. No bending round stock, no welding on plates to make them usable as steps... Just strong, functional, and cheap. Oh, and good - looking.

Or you could pay to have the same sliders as half of Tacoma World.

 

AllPro APEX Sliders, they have inserts in them so your foot doesn't slide through on accident so you can use them as steps and they're absolutely beastly.

I'm getting a set in a few paychecks.

Sorry man... Doubt you'll get many hits on some that aren't fabbed. I bought a set of Pelfreybilt bolt on sliders and I can lift them with a HiLift jack with no issues.

 

Trail Gear may be the only option to fit all of your requirements
