I just saw an interview that said the Canada model has Crawl Control in 1km/h to 5km/h. Are the Canada models getting Km/h and USA gets Mi/h ??

Canadian trucks have an 80 litre fuel tank and US trucks have a 21.1 gal tank

Does it make any sense that they would do that ? Build both trucks in the same plant , with the same components but change the settings on Crawl Control for the Canadian trucks

or do you think it's just a mistake and somebody didn't convert mph / kph ?

I think this video has not been posted. Different video on the same sloped sand, new plumpy guy. Also a chance to hear some revving. This one seems more stuck than the others. Just like the landcruiser video, I don't think many would be able to get unstuck in this same situation without the electronic aid (this is the cue for the tough guys to post how bad ass they are). If for nothing else simply because you might give up trying to get out after spinning your wheels for 2 minutes.

I'd been more impressed if they had done this on closer to level ground. Could this be useful? Absolutely. But if you take your 4x4 out enough times and start getting some experience under your belt, I'm willing to bet it almost never gets used.. Nice feature, but the rear locker on the TRDOR will come in 100 times more useful IMHO..

So many doubters in the system here! I'll preface this by saying that the Tacoma I ordered doesn't have crawl control anyway because it's a manual, but I fully believe in the system. Has anyone here even looked into what it does on the Land Cruisers it's been used in for a few years? It's pretty cool and would definitely help if you get stuck...

I don't doubt the system. Just don't think the folks with more off road experience under their belt will really have much need for it.. But if anything, it could be that one crucial time it gets used that's going to make it worth every penny..

That's awesome.. Land Cruises are dam impressive. Loved mine while I had it..

Not to rain on anyones skill, but I've seen many an "experienced" driver bury a truck due to one slip up. I'd definitely try the crawl control over my own skill if it was available on my truck to get me out of just such a situation. Not to mention the usefulness on extreme downgrades where gearing might not be enough to compensate for slope.

Crawl control is just a nice thing to have and it's good that they added it to the Tacoma. The guys I know with 4Runners use it a couple of times each trip.

I consider myself to have decent offroad abilities and have found crawl control to be handy on inclines. Without CC, in 4L going down hill on uneven rocky terrain with ruts etc etc, you are pretty much on and off the brakes which can lead to a 'jerky' feeling situation. Kind of hard to explain but with CC it seemed smoother. However it is noisy in the cab!
I have not used it in the sand yet. I usually air down if I'll be in the sand for a decent period of time. It would be interesting to try CC with full air pressures to get unstuck. Wonder how it would work on flat ground, bet not as well as on an incline.

That's the first time I see someone use it for rock crawling.

Nice to know that you can climb a rock that steep with a stock suspension and wheels/tires.
