The Nissan Frontier I was out looking for 2016 tocos today and I stumbled across a 2016 frontier dbl cab 4x4 SB Pro 4 loaded with leather seats. Dealer is asking 35,000. This seems like a good deal. If you got a taco 2016 with the same features you are looking around 40,000. I am still leaning toward the taco with the same features Has anyone had a frontier. What was your experience

My brother has an 09. Really good truck. Reliable so far. We use it for many camping trips.

Also... He really wants a Tacoma.

The extra 5k is for the cooler look and the extra reliability.

First of all a Limited 4X4 with towing and tonneau Invoices at $37128. No one should pay $40K for one.

So even if one pays $38K for the Limited which is a fair price, that's only $3000 more than the less desireable Frontier. Resale should make up the difference

I'd probably buy a Colorado before a frontier.

Traded in a Frontier for the Tacoma. The two aren't in the same league, IMO.

I ignore Window Stickers. I am only concerned with what I am willing pay over Invoice. For a Limted i personally would offer $38K That's $800 above Invoice for the vehicle and options in this region, and that should be a deal that gets done.

Buy a Frontier ONLY if a Tacoma is not in your budget. Don't buy it because its cheaper. Cheaper does not equate to value.

Respectfully, you may be quoting the 4x2 price. $39,370 is the 4x4 price.

    Invoice on 7582 .4X4 Limited is $35035
    ...................................... .Delivery $935
    ..........................................Towing $579
    ........................................Tonneau $579

    ..............................Invoice total $37128

Add to that what a buyer will offer above Invoice. MSRP means nothing. Buyers should not start at MSRP and go backwards. They should start at Invoice or less and offer more from there until their target price is met or they walk..

In this case I would target $38K as my last buy price That's almost $1000 over Invoice and a deal that has a excellent chance of being done, unless the buyer blinks.

I bought my Tacoma with an offer above Invoice. I did not care what MSRP was. I was only going to pay $500 above (including their "Doc Fee". The dealer knows me and knows I will walk, or buy from an out of area dealer who offered me the same truck at Invoice, so they did the deal. Plus I have purchased from them before on the same terms, and do all my paid service there. They listed MSRP on my truck at $36500....(i included their Mop and glo ding protection Tint etc for another $1295) None of that mattered to me and my offer. I did not ask for those accessories and services when i ordered. So they included them anyway.

I think the OP should offer $37800 for a Limited before buying a Frontier. he may gt a dealer who wants to move a truck at a lower margin. Especially if he brings the Frontier price in and is a definite buyer. Most dealers will.
