those that already got your trucks. for the ones that got the TRD Sport package, what brand shocks do you have? I initially thought these came with Bilstein but looked under mine and have Hitachi shocks. Just wanted to see.

Tow package, K&N FIPK, K&N Cab filter, blacked out windows, powder-black TRD Sport wheels, TRD cat-back "Sport Exhaust", EBC "green pad" brakes with slotted rotors, GReddy front springs, new leaf-packs, ICON rear shocks,"Spec-D" black grille, blacked out fog-lights and headlights (all "Spec-D"), ScanGaugeII, old school Hurst "Dual Gate" shifter, black Tonneau bed cover, Mobil 1 since day one, Valentine1, idiot-behind-the-wheel-mod... *New frame and both rear leaf-spring packs as of October 2015* (weird..as mine wasn't rusty...)?! No noises, squeaks, problems whatsoever so far... ::knocks on wood:: PS) My wheels look cool only because they're coated in brake dust....
And yet another goofy question... I have an '08 4X4 TRD Sport Access Cab. When I bought it new (and even now), before I did anything to it, I noticed it has a slightly lowered and what seems like to me a stiffer suspension. Which is a good thing. I planned on using it as a truck and hauling engines and misc. stuff in the back, which I have (those Tacoma bed mats are worth it..I bought one brand new off of Craigslist, cheap). When I bought it I test drove other "regular" Tacoma's (4X4's), and Tacoma 4X4 TRD Off-Roads and found them both to not only sit higher (when parked directly next to a TRD Sport 4X4), but thought they felt a bit more "squishy and bit more bouncy". I'm not a big fan of "bouncy" or "squishy" suspension. That's a big reason I went with the Sport. That and the bucket seats ;) My question is, are the Bilstein's in my TRD Sport (blue/yellow..definitely Bilsteins) different than the Bilsteins off a TRD Off-Road? Or even a regular 4X4 Tacoma? I can't find this info anywhere for some reason so I guess they're the same. It doesn't explain why the Sport sits a bit lower than the Off-Roads and is noticeably stiffer. Can anyone explain this? On the sticker from the window when new just says "TRD Sport Bilstein suspension".... Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me understand this!!

Bilstein shocks are the same on offroad and sport 2nd gen models (4x4 or 4x2)

Thanks...that's exactly what I was looking for. And yeah I was thinking they were Hitachi's as well but nope, these are definitely Bilstein's from the factory. It must be a regional thing or something. Thanks again for the info....

Can probably find some take offs in a few weeks for about $300.
