Front bumper on the new Tacomas metal?

    Is the front bumper on the new Tacomas metal? You never see a chrome front bumper on the new model Tacomas.

    No. Not really. Plastic is more durable and just as strong as the cheap metal chrome one from gen 1.

    Nah. Not that I know of. Never had any issue with my 2010 and my 2015 is still perfect.

    i'm old school,big heavy metal. but the tupperware dosent rust and easier to get dead bugs off. got a 15 base, just gray and black plastic.

    It just looks weird to have a painted front bumper (front) and chrome bumper (rear).

    my 15 is the same way.... White front and chrome rear. Didn't bother me until you pointed it out. Thanks for ruining my day.

    It seems that the "chrome" rear bumper is just plastic with chrome paint. If I end up going with an SR5, the first thing I will do is change those rear bumper sides pieces out for the black plastic ones on the base SR (with the utility package). I think the black plastic looks a million times better.
