I've got a 2015 6cyl TRD OR DC and I want to make sure it's ok for basic water crossing. Nothing extreme, maybe to the tire top. I have the pieces to relocate the rear differential higher. From what I can tell the rear elcoker vent in the frame member is a one way valve and doesn't need to be higher, unlike the pics in the scuba mod from the FJs which have a different vent. I've been searching trying to find the breather for the transfer case. Haven't had any luck yet. Here are the ADD and Front Differential Breathers, inner fender driver's side of the engine compartment, easy to see and find and probably high enough (mounted about 6" above the wheel top)

I also found the transmission vent, mounted on a bracket on the rear of the engine just inside of the fire wall about the same height as the front diff. The breather is the little black thing sticking up in the center of the picture (the tube angles down and back to the top of the transmission)

Can anyone help me with a pic or location of the transfer case breather. With all the heat shields and the belly plates I can't locate it myself. Thanks!!

"basic water crossing" is not what i would call "top of the tire"

If you are going that high. The rear diff lock breather will need to be extended as that is below the top of the frame (even though its a one way valve, it can still suck stuff in, as thats how the original rear axle breather is)

Transfer case breather lays on top of the transmission.

Nevermind, found it. It's that hose laying on top of the transmission/bell housing with the braided covering running left to right in the lower part of the second pic above. It has a little breather valve on the end (not a one way valve, just a breather with a cover). It runs back across the top of the transmission to the transfer case. It just lays there at the rear of the engine without being secured to anything but the top of the transmission. I connected a short piece of tubing to it and extended it up above the height of the transmission vent.

Oh and dont forget a snorkel.... top of the tire is WAY WAY to close to the air intake inlet for comfort.
