I got my DTRL lens changed a few weeks back due to the melting issue. The new lens are nice and bright and shiny but the lighst still get pretty hot in my humble observation of such things. After running a while, those suckers are hot. Are there other bulb choices that can work? I do want to keep the DTRL: I think there is some marginal safety value but even at a less brightness level I don't think I'd lose much. I think I read the originals are 3057's and 1157 are lower wattage? Are there any cooler LED's that work? There are some silver 1157's on Amazon for cheap that say they are amber. Anybody got any experience? Thanks

Just a few months ago I installed the LED DRL's that apparently come as standard in the XSP-X model. I wanted to avoid that melting issue before it happened as i like to keep some sort of lights on during the day. These are dealer installed (although i did them myself) and will not void warranty if done at the dealer. They look great, and are VERY bright, and they dim when parking/headlights are activated as per DOT specs.
I no longer have to use the amber DRL's and risk melting the connectors, i can reserve those for blinkers only as intended. There are different part numbers for the various colors. Heres the link:

And i just saw you have a 2009, dont think these fit without a grill and light retrofit. Somwthing to think about i guess.
