Time to make my build page!
I've been doing some searching and it looks like they don't make a front window for my year, 2007, that doesn't have the super annoying blue tint at the top. However, if you change the year to 2012, you can get it without that strip. My glass guy says it's the same block size, and uses the same moulding. Has anyone done this? Any issues?

And yes, the reason I want to do this is because I'm 6'9" and its annoying to deal with that strip. Most of my height is in my legs, but I think I am going to move the mirror up, and I might chop a little off the seat bracket and re-weld it. I would still like that strip gone.

Before anyone says that I should of bought a Tundra or whatever (blah blah) I bought the Tacoma because I spend half my year doing I25, I495, and I695 in DC and Baltimore. My other half is in Wyoming. So I wanted something with a locker that still is small enough to park and drive in the city.

Don't know why all gen 2 windshields ('04-'15) wouldn't be the same. Also don't know why your glass guy wouldn't know that.

Hi Bill. They just go by the computer. I told her to try it using 2012 instead of 2007 and she said the size was the same and the moulding was the same, but she seemed hesitant. I figured it was best to ask before ordering it.

Well, there were body changes (front end trim?) and some other changes that occurred in '12. But I don't think anything big like the cab, doors, bed, etc etc changed over those years.

I'm sure in the 'books' it shows year ranges, maybe even different part numbers. Maybe a visit to a dealer parts counter could sort it for you.

But still betting the '12 will fit.

I did similar on a Miata windshield. They were listed as '90-'93 and '94-'97. And there were many driveline and interior trim differences. But the tub and removable panels were all the same, so the windshields were too.
