    LOL I was thinking about doing the same thing. Mine hasn't melted yet, but the outer lenses already have a little bit of UV hazing.

    OP I would steer clear of LED headlights. I had a set and they went bad so I went back to halogen until the technology is better.

    I'd also steer clear of talking about committing fraud regardless of the recall. If the problem happens take it in and get it fixed if it doesn't then be happy you didn't have to deal with the dealer don't go purposely melting your housing what happens when they say no then your screwed
