Did this same research yesterday. Google is your friend (it finds stuff here on TW that TW's own search won't ...).

sample search hits for what is Toyota part# 90010-05120

Anywho, according to that time sink, these are in general terms a "T4 Type B neo wedge" which for whatever reason is also known as "KT928."

I ordered a 10-pk from candlepower.com for $18 + shipping and will soon have a "lifetime supply" for the truck in a couple days. Scroll down to the bottom: http://store.candlepower.com/jadaandinbu.html

There's also a version available without the base. The bulb pulls straight out (wear nitrile glove for grip) and the new bulb goes in and the wires wrap around the appropriate nubs on the base. But I forget who has those or what they're called. But those sound like unnecessary work, which I'm allergic to.

Research failure. KT928 is wrong. They do work, but with a caveat to use the 10-pk to replace them all so they match and then use the dimmer.

The KT928 a slightly larger bulb, so likely can't be used in the original bulb base if you were to attempt to swap just the bulb, and is noticeably brighter bulb and that's the issue here. But with a slight push the base does fit in the slot without modification. You also need a flat blade screwdriver to twist it in and to pry out when necessary.

My apologies for posting before I actually tested it.

Notice the middle bulb is also brighter than the one on the left, for some reason?

With the plate on they are more even.

So yeah, I'll go back and replace the rest since I got the 10-pk.

20151010_104739.jpg The red doesn't show through the blue side of temp selector too good. But like it. I think all bulbs were maybe about $14ish after shipping.

possible correx to my update ... KT928 may not be wrong, as I'm now seeing various Neo4 lights with the same type of base they have, meaning, twist to lock with a screwdriver instead of with just your fingers. Either way they fit.

The question is lumens output (for KT928 vs OEM) and the KT928 may be brighter. I could replace the other two in my HVAC and see how they compare with my dash. But what will happen first is I'll replace my dash cluster with LED 914's in *natural light* color first. If it's too far off I'l probably try some Neo4 LEDs in my HVAC. Like the others, some of those are brighter than others.

From what I've read here, it's the middle-sized option, NEO4, the 4mm ones.

And their website says it won't fit. Isn't that fun?

I did the gauge cluster LED bulbs already. 194 bulbs in blue but didn't order the HVAC bulbs at the same time like I should've.

    I wouldn't worry about superbrightleds.com

They also don't know about the type 74 that lights up the auto trans's shifter area.

They also don't know that oh yeah, about a zillion NEO4 (or whatever that size is also called for incandescents, KT928 or?) also go in the dash cluster (small black, not small gray ones.)

I can't find which NeoX bulb I need for my HVAC. There are 3 different sizes. Small, medium or large and it doesn't say it in that thread. It just says NeoX for HVAC

frizzman mentioned NEO 4 (the middle, 4mm size) at least twice in that thread, for the 01-04 HVAC lights.

I have some on order and will try to follow up here. Or there. Or somewhere.

Where did you order them from? I got my led gauge swap bulbs from superbrightleds.com.
