I would expect the prices to be competitive with GM Twins pricing and packages. Toyota isn't stupid.

Have you checked 4Runner prices lately?

The high exchange rate isn't helping things either.

Yeah, it seems like Ford and Dodge are the only ones not moving their CAD price yet. Even then I expect they will once the 2016's are on their lots.

You boys forget what Cdn pricing was back when the dollar was 66 cents. Trucks and vehicles were significantly cheaper in Canada. The exchange rate is not the driving factor with the N.A. car market. From what I hear pricing is not much different than the MSRP for 2015. As somebody already pointed out pricing will be competitive to the GM twins or the vehicles will sit on the lots. Local dealer has five 2015 high end Tacomas sitting on his lot with no takers....yet.

If real mileage is no better with the 2016's I may have to rethink a bit and look at the existing 2015's.

Can I get some credit over here :D. That's right in line with the 2-5K overall I thought we would see.

I wasn't the original poster  @ToyotaSalesPro gets that honor. I just had a lucky educated guess at pricing.

Ford will be the beneficiary of this high end pricing. Paying close tp $50K for a Tacoma in any iteration is not going to happen. I will pick up a 2015 for the price difference, and pocket the $5K difference. The pricing quoted is not going to last but the dealer inventory sure will.

The current price increase is most likely to put a temporary stop for me in swapping my 2014 sr5 dbcb for a 2015 TRD dbcb.

I am wondering if the market value for a 2014 model will also increase once the 2015 new models are no longer available along with a $2,000 cash rebate.

I'm hearing from someone else that their friends TRD OR AC is going to cost 44K... Not sure if that's out the door or because of some aftermarket addon goodies. I'll find out.

I am not what all that price would get you BUT I would have a hard time justifying paying that kind of money out for essentially a toy. My dealer has two 2015 TRD Sports equipped the way I would want my truck to be so he has them on hold until the 2016's come in tomorrow or Thursday. I intend to test drive the new TRD Sports and the 2015 one right after the other and then decide. I can buy a lot of gas for the anticipated $4K - $5K difference in price so barring some magic in the 2016 TRD Sport I will go with the 2015. Both, I am sure are excellent trucks but some common sense has to prevail. My neighbour is the local Ford Dealer's Sales Manager so I am holding that option open as well. I prefer the Toyota though.

Go Toyota if you plan on Offroading or having the truck in tight spots a lot. Otherwise, long term, the same level of F150 is going to make you happier than the 2016 IMHO.

Well I just read my above post with a bit of a smile on my red face. Here is what I am paying for my TRD Sport SR5 with the upgrade package 4x4
    1. Vehicle Price $40.585 including Upgrade Package
      Plus:

      Bed Mat - $130
      Hood Deflector - $135.
      Plug in Block Heater $411.43
      Side Step Bars 4`` - $528.47
Extended Care Package 84 months Platitnum $2899.

      Taxes - $7,237.40

      Total $51.926.78

The Fnnnn Government is the biggest partner we have in this deal. I very nearly bought a 2015 F 150 XL with a V8. It was certainly competitively priced but for what I want and for how long I keep a vehicle. My wife's Avalon is a 1999 with 89K on the odometer. I traded my well worn out 1991 4Runner for 4 Winter tires and rims plus undercoating. The Ford is well put together and very nice truck BUT how long the truck would last sometimes is a crap shoot. Deal is done and truck should arrive by the end of the month.

Well you looked at both and made a decision. Enjoy the new truck
