I can honestly say that I'm not a fan of the look of the 2016 Tacoma due to the fact that it no longer looks like a Tacoma... It has the same "baby brother" look going for it that the GMC Canyon has.

However, I'm sure the truck is great and amazing and lovely in every way.

This post is not to hate on the grille, that would be akin to beating an expired pony. This thread is not to poke fun at the headlights that look like they are squinting at me, as that would be more of the same. This post is not even to mock the smaller engine for its apparent lack of fuel efficiency despite the downsize, as it is a truck and we all know real world mileage is never the same as estimated unless you drive like your granny with a lidless cup of McDonald's coffee in between her legs.

What this thread is for, then, is to tell you all, my fellow 2nd Gen enthusiasts included, why we should all love the 3rd generation of Taco.

The best thing about the new gen is that it seems to have, in relatively short order, brought out the best and worst of everyone to post in the 3rd Gen section.

You have the fanboys saying every 2nd Gen owner is jealous (despite the fact many of said owners have tens of thousands of dollars of mods and aftermarket accessories on their trucks and wouldn't trade it straight across for something worth twice the price)

And you have the 2nd Gen owners who hate on the 3rd Gen for the simple fact that they don't like the new design or they fear change, or they like to get a rise out of the 3rd Genners.

And then you have the ridiculous posts in this forum every day about the silliest things, from new truck smell to power seats...

Ultimately we should all love this truck for the simple fact that, if you can keep from getting enraged at a stranger's comments over the Internet, it has proven to be a fantastic source of entertainment for this forum.

    In conclusion,

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

I had a lot more but it got pretty rambly so I decided this would suffice. Seriously though. Entertainment at its finest

Toyota has always been a little weird about their styling. Seeing the 2016 in the flesh is really totally different than on a computer. I like it now.

Not to mention "encouraged self-identification" of everyone I'd want to ignore. It's become a respectable sized list of disrespectful people.

I don't ignore anyone, because regardless of rude comments or whatnot it all makes me laugh. If you can't see the idiocy you don't get the good fortune of getting to laugh at it.

Why can't we all just get along?

Grill or no grill, who cares. Some like to take them off road, some don't. Some like the new tech, some don't. In th end it seems the common bond is its a Toyota and its a Tacoma. Enjoy whatever you have.
