I was hoping anyone have info for pricing for VIP buyers. My brother is new at Group One Automotive and I can get a VIP price. I am looking to purchase 2016 SR5 Tacoma Double Cab. I received a $29,280 VIP pricing from a $30,640 MSRP. Was wondering if that is a good deal. Feels more like a rebate than an VIP discount. The dealership is in Houston Texas. Any info would be great. Thanks.

You should be able to determine invoice price in the one sticky thread. Alternatively, you can build and price on KBB an Truecar which should show u invoice to compare to that price. In general, I think u could do better.

OK I will check that site out. Thanks. I feel like that price they offered was a price anyone could have gotten.

Sounds like you aren't getting a VIP deal

Z50king I agree. Feel like anyone walking into the dealer can get that deal.

Go tell them that. The VIP group at whatever place you are looking to buy is not real. It's just nearer to the dealer's best price.

As far as I know, they say "VIP" because my brother works at group one automotive and I'm suppose to be able to get a good deal at their dealerships. I have only been emailing with the dealer and last message I have sent was asking if that "VIP" price they gave me was a rebate. No way that is a real discount.

there are no factory rebates. Your brother's dealer didn't pay as much as the 'invoice' price that they say they bought it for. They also get holdback at the end of the quarter, look at my sig. They are still making a lot of money on that truck at the VIP price

My brother was able to get invoice price with the holdback info from the accounting department when we were looking into different vehicles to buy. I ddnt fully understood it at the time. Ill have to look back on those paper work.

Question: If the dealer just got the new vehicles, would it still have any holdbacks??

    Yes.

Go in with the invoice price and tell them that's what you'll pay for the truck.

Every vehicle they sell will get holdback. Toyota keeps the holdback money to play around with until the end of the quarter. If Toyota sees that the vehicle was sold, they pay the dealer the holdback. Toyota probably takes a bath in all that cash
