So, after a log wait my local dealership finally got in the Tacoma I wanted. A Blazing Blue Pearl, double cab, long bed, sr5. I wanted to do the appearance package, but there's no telling how long that would have taken. I upgraded from a 2013 sr5 double cab longbed. My first impressions are obvious as that I did indeed buy the truck. I love the looks and feel of it. The engine feels like it actually picks up quicker than the 13 I had, but I did have the tow package on it, so maybe the gears were longer before? I'm not sure. All of this is to say that there are a few downgrades. The first most noticeable is that the auto dimming mirror is gone. I really enjoyed that. I'm sure I could install one easily enough, but it's just a minor inconvenience. Next, the center console is A LOT smaller. Like, I can't fit anything in it. My glovebox is now completely full. Something like that usually wouldn't bother me, but I can't even fit the envelope with the paperwork in there. Anyway, again it's not a huge deal just something to be aware of. The last thing isn't something I already had, but I wanted. The wireless charging is not standard and unfortunately they don't have info on if and when it will be available as an add on. For what it is, these are all minor details that obviously wouldn't stop me from purchasing, but are things I would have liked to know going in. That's the only reason I shared them. I LOVE this truck and to be honest it handles like a dream comparatively . My 13 felt like it would dive ( motocross rider here) into the corners; whereas the new truck feels solid and stable, it basically feels like I can take tight corners a lot faster. The lift and rims and tires aren't here yet, so that might change in the future, but so far I'm loving it. I did already have someone spill some sweet tea in my passenger floor board. It came right out thank GOD, but just remember gents. No drink is a safe drink. Even with a cap ! Ha enjoy the photos. I will update once the goodies come in. Edit: For some reason my pone is being weird and keeps doing a double upload on some photos. Sorry about thatimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpgimage.jpg

Congrats man! Im eagerly awaiting mine to arrive at the dealership. Its scheduled to land in the last week of this month.

Im glad to hear you feel the engine has more "zip" than your 13 (as it should with more hp). How does acceleration feel from a dead stop compared to your 13?

Acceleration is definitely better too. The 13 felt really sluggish to me from day one. I didn't really feel comfortable passing on non highway roads without a lot of room. This one gets there quick enough for me for sure. The 13 needed to shift earlier was the problem. I wouldn't redline it to get there sooner. This one shifts before redline no matter what.

Yes the wheels need to hurry up! Haha I'm excited. I've honestly never had a lifted truck. Always just ran whatever was on it when I bought it. The 13 was my first new vehicle

Sweet ride! I have an SR5 on order with the appearance package. Can you take a few interior pics - including the dash?

    Congrats and thanks!

Yea the center console is a disappointment to me also. I can't understand why they put the parking brake handle by the console. To me they should left it the way it was on the gen2. Putting it by the console just takes
Space that could be used for storage. It is a minor detail and it won't keep me from buying one

That is NICE! Yep the Qi only comes on the Sport and OR models. You may be able to rig a wireless charging bad in there if you really want to.

Congratulations!! Great color :) I got the same color too. This truck is much quieter and the drives much nicer than the previous gen.

    Thanks all!

Yeah, the parking brake got me when I first got in. My foot still searches for it when I park.
The console on the 13 was just so much larger, that I don't understand how anyone could have thought that design was better.

Anyway, I will get some interior pics on my lunch break for you guys.

Yeah, didn't even pay attention to the size until I was moving stuff from my old truck and then was like "well damn". Also lose more space if you actually use the 12V plug since it's on the inside front wall of the console.

OP, can I ask what your justification was for going with the SR5 vice the OR or Sport? I'm undecided between the trim levels...
