33 woes

So I have a 5 piece set of 33s from my previous vehicle and I figured I'd try to put them on the taco to see how they fit. Apparently you can't fit 33s on 2nd gen without mods but I figured I'd try it on the 3rd gen since the wheel wells look like they can barely fit 33s.

Well, my wheel swap was short lived. I tried mounting one of the 33s and since they are on Isuzu alloy wheels the calipers were hitting the walls of the wheels as the walls taper in. Kind of bummed with the taco because fitting 33s is a pain in the ass.

I'm trying to figure out how to approach this. I'm currently not worried about up travel rubbing because the taco will be seeing pavement for the time being until I get a lift, then I'll be hitting the trails. Seems like I could get the 33s mounted if I install wheel spacers but I'm generally not a big fan of them. But I do like these wheels. These 33s are on 16x7 wheels by the way. Anyways, would spacers or maybe wheels with less back spacing resolve issues with the tires rubbing on the suspension parts? I was thinking about getting 16x8 steelies with 2" back spacing.

Any input?
