2005 Toyota Tacoma Questions

I changed the serpentine belt because of the squeal I had in the morning. The squeal went away after I changed the belt. A few days later the outer edge of the belt tore off. It didn't break and works fine. Is that normal? I bought a gates belt. I also have another question about the heater. I replaced the blower fan motor thinking it would take the noise away. It still whistles and there is a weird sound when driving like a howling noise in drive turn off the heater sound goes away. I don't know if anybody else has that problem.

 

Doesn't sound normal for any part of a belt to break off after use.

 

cant say for sure, but you could have a few seized belt pullys on your engine. I did head gaskets on my 05 taco and replaced 3 pullys cuz they didnt spin well

 

I had a turkey call, and replaced 3 pulleys and a leaking water pump.... check the pulleys for play....
