My 2006 doesn't have anything of the sort under there. But I wear a 7.5 boot. Don't think it would be a problem.

Okay nevermind, it's up under there I briefly glanced earlier. I never noticed it even being there.

Removal complete and it solved the issue. Took all but 30 seconds with a flashlight and finger to pop open 4 plastic clips. Recomendation is to run the heater through it in cold weather first as I didn't and 3 out of the 4 clips snapped off. It's fate was the garbage either way. Mine on my 2014 is slightly different from OZ-T's. His has a longer arm with what appears to be a screw or bolt hole on the end, mine doesn't. Either way, Thanks again OZ-T!

Hey old thread revival instead of starting a new one. Has been driving me crazy on my '15 hitting the plastic piece. I thought it was hanging or something was wrong until I found this.

Question - for OZ or anyone else who had removed it year ago, any issues from this or thoughts after having removed it?

Why not just sand off the lowest hanging part. Looks like that will remove 1.5", which might buy you what you need.
