2016 Tacoma Recall Knee Airbag Bolt - Affects 310 Trucks

306 vehicles build dates Aug 20 - Sept 10. They were probably the first ones off the line and then they found out they werent using the right bolts. Probably had to do with the stop sale people mentioned on here, they had to investigate and hold those trucks.

 

And honestly....there's a near 100% chance that it does mean shit. But it is part of a safety system and in today's climate....Toyota will always err on the side of caution.

 

I didn't even know there is a knee air bag. That's going to hurt like a bitch if it deploys.

 

It's a low deployment force type. But any discomfort is better than knees to the dash!

 

My bolt is on the recall. I am going to wait until the first service.
