I installed a new battery for my sound system and it is too short for the OEM tie down. I got some used R6 rods and dremmeled out the pin ends to accommodate 17mm bearings. Original size is 16mm. I only dremmeled enough to fit the bearing in so it created a nice lip for the bearing to sit on. Then I sent them off to powder coating. I got them in Wrinkle Desert Gray. After I got them back, I sanded off the tops to get a nice looking contrast. I epoxied the bearings in place.

Haha. Thanks for the compliment . I enjoy being creative with my auto projects. I was actually wanting to build a coffee table using used crankshafts from motorcycles. It would a pain to move around though. Hehe.

Bad ass! I was in the market for another tie down option as well. That looks great.

Awesome. Now make those nuts and thread disappear with some nice hardware.

    Very cool.
