    Hey Guys/Gals,

Anyone know the part number for a Powertrax Lock Right or No-Slip for a '09 non-trd, six lug, rear end? Better yet, anyone have one installed?

    Thanks,
    Chuck

Hey! I'm non-trd. The locker is pretty smooth with the exception of what feels like the driveshaft has to make a partial turn before it engages. So from a stop or coasting then back on the gas, it feels sloppy. Make sense or do I need to try and explain it better?

I had it looked at and read up, seems to be the way they are. Also had the drivetrain checked, no issues. I'd be curious if others notice the same thing.

Overall the thing is great! I would not go back to the open diff. I just changed the diff fluid after about 10,000 miles of which 5000 or so was off road. No signs of issues, metal shavings, etc.

I had it installed as I have never worked on a diff. Hind sight being 20/20, I should have done it myself. Looks easy enough.

The lock right is our only option as far as I know, they don't make a no slip for our trucks. I asked the shop which they preferred and they said the lock right, bullet proof. However, the no slip is supposed to be quieter. Not that the lock right is loud. You will hear it without music on when doing slow sharp turns. Music on, no problem!

Please keep me posted and ask any questions you think of.

    Chuck

I found some info on the NoSlip. Seems to me that there are a lot of diffrent names for the same rear end. Toyota 8", Toyota 8.4" and so on. There are a few diffrent ones. On the Rocky Road outfitters site they have a PDF from Richmond with applications. Our Trucks have the 8", but some way more technical websites say it is an 8.4 (which is actually a 8.25" ring gear, LOL) Anywho, here is the P/N 92-2080-3002 . This NoSlip is designed to be more street able. The "Slopp" you feel is the nature of the best with lockers. Check out this everything you wanted to know about lockers video:

I too think I will do the install myself. I cant stand to pay for something I could have fun doing myself. Thanks for the help!

Great video! I learned a lot. If you can, take some photos while you are installing and post them. I'd be curious to see how the job goes. Also can't wait to hear how you like the noslip.

After seeing that video a torsen sounds ideal for the front. Wonder if anyone makes one that would fit? I've wanted to do something (other than a air locker) for a long time.
