So, I'm finding a lot of misinformation out there. Are the mounting brackets for the rear bumper the same for all first gen Tacomas? I see one listing that says "95-04" then another that says "01-04". Even funnier is they use they same pic but then say they're not compatible.

I'd just go look at mine but they are 90 degrees from what they should be after some idiot rear ended me. Fortunately, he paid me $400 cash and I think I just need the brackets. The bumper looks only slightly tweaked and I'm going to do my best to straighten and reuse it. Does anyone have a decent pic of a 1996 rear bumper mounting bracket or an OEM part number?

Im selling a rear bumper with brackets from a 98 taco, doing some custom Rear suspension so the bumper bracket wont work unless i hack them up.
If youre interested shoot me a message.
FYI I think brackets for all the first gens are the same

95.5-04 should all be the same for rear bumper

They should all be the same. Looked at my buddies 96 and it was exactly the same as my 03

I saw that very same listing. It says 95-04 then when I select my vehicle, it says it doesn't fit. I figured the vehicle selector was wrong but just wanted to double check. Thanks again.

Their vehicle selector blows. I always read the reviews because the people usually put their vehicles in that section. It's a pain sometimes.

Suspension, 33s, some armor... Rust, Gray wire and 2Low, and more. T4r is stock.
I have an extra set of new rear bumper brackets that came with my 01. The dealer put a new rear bumper on but the original brackets are fine. They look the same as my friends 98...
