I'm hoping the US version would look a little better, but I like the idea.

I love the people on here! "Bring us the international mid sized trucks, they make me jizz my pants late at night because they are real trucks!"

Then when Ford threatens to actually bring theirs here "Fuck no, that design is too round'"

I'd be interested if it was for real... but doubt Australia wanna-be Raptors will convince Corporate Ford to a build a Raptor Ranger model here. Shit they aren't even offering the Ranger period. F-150 makes them way too much $ to care.

I think you missed all the articles lately about the UAW negotiations at the old Focus plant. Ford is exploring the possibility of building the full sized Transit and the Ranger at that plant for 2018. Ford even admitted the negotiations are going on to measure interest.

hmm, well then I stand corrected... maybe it will come to fruition. Raptor maybe not but Ranger alone would be intriguing. Hope they get rid of all the Focus shit at the factory :) damn mine sucked.....

While the Raptor is cool, can't really haul anything in it...me thinks that Ranger is a just a grill and stickers though.

I like this one, though I think I am over mid-size trucks...I dunno, it either has to be an economical mini truck or a fullsize for me. The midsizes seem the best on no worlds...

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure the international Ranger is rated for 2300 lbs of payload and 7700 lbs towing. Similar to the Chevy Colorado and Toyota Hilux internationally.

Definitely not competition to an American 1/2 ton, but enough for most people.

No way they put the 6.2 L in a Ranger. If anything a Ranger Raptor would likely get a tuned up version of the 2.7 L Ecoboost.

I still wanna see someone throw a V6 audi TDI engine in something. I hear many good things about the vw amarok in europe which uses the same engine. wish we could get it in north america

the V6 isn't actually part of the recall its only on the 2L common rail I4 engine that they use in the passat, jetta, golf, tiguan and A3

I like it. If the Ranger existed stateside there's a decent chance I wouldn't have deposit money on a Tacoma right now. GM and Nissan don't do it for me but Ford just might. Toyota's still my default position.

meh, the only problem is they now pollute just as bad as any diesel does. really only a problem because they lied and said it didn't. Besides it only effects the north american models.

besides, VW is one of the largest auto families in the world. This will be nothing to them in a few years.

They tested the Amarok in Canada and claimed it was coming to Canada for sale by 2013. That date came and went. If you believe the pundits out there, the front end didn't hold up very well once people started to use it as a truck in testing.
