    bought my 2008 4dr 2wd TRD 4 1/2 years ago for 20K, 25K miles, traded it in yesterday for a 2016 same style they gave me $19800.

    I traded in my 07 DCSB sr5 4x4 bought it for 22k in January 2015 (63k miles) traded in August 2015 (75k miles) for 23k :D

    It's a #'s game. Without knowing what you paid for the 2016 vs invoice/MSRP & interest rate of the note there's no real way to know what you actually got for trade-in.

    ^^^ what he said. Tacomas hold their value extremely well - among the best. However, there's two end to the wick, so-to-speak. They'll give you more on your trade, then not discount the car you're buying as much, or give you a killer deal on the car you're buying but not give you as much on your trade. It's all just playing with numbers. The only way to really gauge great trade-in value would be for them to just buy your truck in cash.
