Hello guys, new here but will buy a 3rd Gen Tacoma soon. Toyota uses a lot of the same parts on all their vehicles and the seat bottom frame would seem to be an easy interchangable part from a manufacturing standpoint. If the seat bolt pattern is the same, what would be the limiting factor in changing out a height adjustable seat base from say a Toyota Camry into a Tacoma? Taking one of these toyota seat coverings and cushions apart is stupid easy. What do you guys think? Could it be done and has it been done?

If you look under a seat in a 2016 Tacoma, you will see that there is hardly any room from the seat base to the floor. If you stuff an adjustable seat frame in there, it will only make the seat bottom higher in the truck

But would an adjustable base fit due to bolt pattern I wonder? If so, I wonder what the bottom seat height would be.

The seat bottom would be HIGHER because the mechanics take up more space than the simple slider bar.

Sounds like this may work if you want the seat to be higher, but not if you want the seat to be lower.

The seating position in the 16 is higher than the 15. Did they raise the portion of the floor under the seat or change the bracket? If they just changed the bracket I wonder if it could be swapped with a 15.
