So I'm watching the 49ers game with a buddy and his friend at the local bar and the conversation eventually got around to our cars. His friend drives a Lexus something or another and was kind of weirded out that I drove a Tacoma. "They are great trucks, don't get me wrong...but I always think it's odd when I see someone over 35 years old driving one". He apparently thinks older guys driving trucks should be driving "big full size trucks" or driving cars/SUV's.

This guy was harmless but kind of ridiculous. I didn't get mad since he ended up buying my beers based on numerous football/bar bets lost.

Anyway, anyone 40+ self conscious that they're driving a Tacoma?

I have never considered the Tacoma as an age specific vehicle. Corvette on the other hand...

I'm over 60, some of my Taco friends are over 70. I know some 50 and 60 year old ladies around here with them. I think there are plenty of pre-Tacos parked at the high school

44 and the back seat has two car seats. Awesome alternative to a minivan and we fill the bed every weekend at the home improvement store.

Fixing up an old travel trailer which I certainly wouldn't tow with a Lexus.

34 and traded my Lexus for the Tacoma. Needed a bed to tote my testicles around in. No room in the Lexus for them. Damn fine cars though. I like running shit over and not worrying about cosmetics so much. I was paranoid in the yuppie cruiser. Don't really care what people think anymore. Opinions don't pay my bills, unfortunately.
