Did some searching couldn't find answers to exactly what I was looking for on other threads so I figured I would create a new thread.

First, my seat belt is obnoxious. It has this annoying creak while it is buckled whenever I move at all, turn, accelerate or brake. It's getting worse too. It's not really a squeak, more of a plastic sounding creak. I have read that other users have had seat belt noises but didn't really see any good solutions for fixing it. Anyone have suggestions?

The second issue may or may not be an issue but I figured since I was starting a new thread I might as well ask it. When I turn the A/C system or heat completely off, I can still feel air coming out of the vents like it is on low and can't get it to stop blowing air completely. Is this common for Tacomas? Both of my wife's Camrys don't do this but I have never driven another Tacoma to see if it is a common Tacoma problem. I haven't really looked for anything on this issue, so if someone knows of a thread that discusses this please drop the link for me.

My truck is under warranty for another couple thousand miles so I plan on bringing these up with the dealer next time I am in, unless there are good DIY fixes I can find. The problem is I can't always recreate the seat belt creak so they think I am crazy and won't fix/replace it until I can duplicate the noise. I also have to get my Entune radio replaced because it locks up every now and then when using the navigation and they said it would be easy to swap it out with a new one.

    Thanks in advance!!

Press the recirculation button and it should stop.

    +1

The 2nd gens flow so much air through the vents just by driving. In cooler weather I don't even have to turn on the fan or a/c when I am on the free way.

Do you mean to turn the re-circulation off? I have tried it both on and off, off has a slight difference, but still a good amount of air shooting out.

My seat belt (I assume) just started making the same creaking noise a couple of weeks ago. It's not constant, but it didn't do it before. Hoping I can find a fix. Its definitely annoying.

As for the ac, like everyone else said it's just the outside air coming in.

If you saw the inside of your HVAC box you would know why you are getting heat. The air first passes through the evaporator (cold) and then through the heater core next to it. Plastic flaps with foam pieces do all the work at controlling temp. and distribution. My first 2nd gen had a howling sound through the HVAC box. Like an idiot I decided to take a peek. Anyway that whole HVAC box is a crap Delphi special held over from the days of the joint venture with GM. Mine looked like two year olds cut and glued the foam pieces on. In fact on a bunch of early 2nd gens there is one or two TSBs to correct foam on flaps that have come unglued.

The other thing I noticed while in there is the new foam takes awhile to conform to the shape in the box it closes/opens to. My advice is give it some more time to settle. If it does not, take it in before your warranty is up. And whatever you do, do not even think about going into the HVAC box. It is very time consuming as the entire dash, everything, has to be removed, I even had to take off the pedals, ebrake, and drop the steering wheel on mine

Thanks for the advice, sounds like I WILL NOT be handling this myself and just see what my local dealership says about it while it is still under warranty!

As for the seat belt, I am hoping to fix that myself. Anyone know if WD-40 is a bad idea in the actual clasp where the metal touches? I am pretty sure that is where it is coming from.

I thought I was the only one who noticed the seat belt creak! Hoping someone has a solution; it drives me nuts.
