Just got home with my 2016. Pop the hood and I'm getting this clicking sound like a Diesel engine? Anyone hearing the same noise with theirs ? https://vimeo.com/143059733

You won the Toyota Diesel Jackpot, they only made one this year and you apparently got it! Congrats on finally owning the first U.S. Diesel Toyota Tacoma

Read up on the engine. it's designed to occasionally use the port injectors during idle to help keep the build up off of the direct(cylinder) injectors.

Been working on them for nearly 10 years. Toyota is a little late to the party.

There was a tech tip sent around by Toyota just after release on this. Its the direct injection self cleaning mode. It prevents carbon buildup on the injector, which was prone to happening in other models.

Me thinks though they did a bang up job of sound insulation. It's the pedestrian you pass by, not the driver who hears the sweet sounds of "the kettle drum band"

Ya, only heard it outside the truck, agree inside was dead quiet. GF and me could actually talk, just didnt like the interior, some cool features but just didnt jive with me, which is fine, at home with my archaic 2nd gens.
