A month or so ago I said goodbye to my 02 Tacoma and said hello to an 07 SR5 V6. It was originally a Canadian rig and it has very low mileage. I am stoked to have such a pretty truck and like everyone on this website I have huge ideas for what to do with this blank template. But funds are lacking. So this thread will just be things that I do to my truck. I will try to post pictures as I go. So enjoy!!

    My truck:
I decided to start with putting in a sound system in my truck. Got a double DIN Kenwood and am absolutely loving it. Got the Brosche trim kit and like the stock look.
Next step for me is speakers and sub. I bought a Kenwood Excelon 900-5 amp and am very excited to put it in. But will place component speakers in front door and just 6.5" speakers in the back. This is all in process, waiting till I get money first. Will keep everyone posted!

I went out and bought myself a sub first. A kicker L5, never been disappointed with a Kicker and I have only heard great things about the Solo-Baric series. I am hoping to make a ported box that goes in the middle of the back of the access cab. Hoping it will work out as good as I imagine.

I decided to build a box out of cardboard after having a large amount of measurements done. I apologize now for the illegibility.

I made a huge amount of tweaks to the cardboard box, made me super happy I went with card board first and didn't just go to wood. Here is my final cardboard box.

Started getting all the lines drawn on the wood and don't have any saws at the moment. Going to have to borrow them from my dad.

So far here is total cost:
    3/4 MDF sheet: $33.95
    Clear Sealant: $5.48
    Dowel: $.18
    2-1/2" Screw $2.95 (1 Pound)

I will keep everyone posted on the build as it progresses. I am going to carpet the box and hopefully made it look decent.

Alright, so I neglected to take some pictures but I just finished my sub box today. I have a few pictures of the final product but none of the build. The product looks alright to me and it sounds even better (thank goodness).

Here is my update after a couple weeks of my new system and everything has settled in a little. Everything seems to be working well although I am having some problems with my Scoshe Dash kit staying on. If I ever hit a bumpy road it will come out. I have taken it off and trimmed it with a knife and everything, it just seems as if the clips aren't holding very well? I am loving the box. I can still get two people in the back comfortably with everything which is a huge bonus. On the top I put a fabric with 2 in. Foam pad on top so if anyone uses it as an arm rest its actually comfortable.

The speakers are loud and clear as well as the sub is hard hitting and heavy. I had to put foam into the compartment for garage door openers because it was rattling way too much. For everyone who hates loud sound systems here is my motto, I keep it to a reasonable level at most times and only crank it occasionally. When I do crank it I turn it down at stop lights because not everyone wants to hear my music and I understand that so I try to be respectable. If people are upsetting me or I am just pouting, I will keep it up though. But any questions on sound system set up or any details please hit me up for sure.

I have a stock radio from a 2007 Toyota Tacoma I have no use for including everything as well as the stock speakers for both front or back set-up including front tweeters. Let me know if you are interested in any of the items!
