I think the quality of vehicles Chrysler is putting out now is the worst of all the major automakers. My wife has a Dodge Journey and it is really a piece of crap.

1 week, 150 miles. Car has been awesome so far, except for that foggy headlights I dealt with. Cleared up and so far, nothing else.

The JGC is so damn luxurious compared to the Tacoma. I know, apples to oranges. I bought the "Lifetime" warranty since I don't have trust in the brand, but as stated. The GC has been awesome.

It's in excellent shape. Almost like new. I got it as a gift to replace my old one. I think I only started using this new one at the beginning of summer.

Don't those new cherokees have a bad rear crash rating or something to do with the gas tank when being rear ended? Like ford pintos all over again? I thought i saw that somewhere....

I bet you'll be happy with the choice. Those are really supurb vehicles....even for Chrysler...

congrats on it being first new vehicle purchase but in my opinion the JGC looks like an egg or a mini van, Jeep definitely went away from the masculine look in favor of a feminine look.

Enjoy your Jeep while you can. I'll take durability and dependability over fancy electronics and automated butt scratchers any day, but to each their own.

I owned a 2010 JGC for a year and half and just recently traded it in for my 2012 Taco. The JGC was a piece of crap, nothing ever worked right, you hit the blinker to the right, it showed left, when it rained hard all the interior lights came on. Moreover, the quality just wasn't there. Then again that was a design from pre-recession Chrysler. Maybe I just had a bad experience, but Jeep just didn't do it for me. Soooo happy in my Taco.

    2. Ford
    3. Honda
    4. Mazda
    I don't remember who's "list" it was.

i have a late model ford and a 2011 taco. i don't want to stir up a hornet's nest but the build quality of the ford SUCKS compared to the taco. i am not sure if a jeep quality is better than a ford but i would do some research. i talked to my mechanic about ford versus tacoma quality and he started laughing. he said i hate tacos cuzz i don't make any money on them. he loved fords, especially the big trucks because they typically spend a lot of expensive time in his shop. i would check this out carefully.

All the Jeeps I've owned were old enough that they were AMC's.....Hopefully yours is at least a little better quality than they were.

That said, to suplement my addiction to 4wd's, I work on other people's trucks/SUV's in my spare time. A large portion of my income from the side business is working on various models of Jeeps. I'm all for people buying them! I need a new winch and sliders, so Jeeps may provide the funds!

Hi WaTacoRider. Great that you're still enjoying your Jeep. I like the looks of the Grand Cherokee also. Just out of curiosity, how's the resale value holding up?
