Purchased my 2000 Tacoma SR5 from the original owner in February of 2014. He had a memo pad with a very detailed list of maintenance and repairs performed on the vehicle, even down to wiper replacement.

    Specs:
    2000 4x4 Tacoma SR5
    White
Manual everything...hubs, windows, locks and trans
    126k miles when purchased...133k currently.

Fast forward a year and half...I want to restore the truck to near new. Now remind you it is still my dd and I am not a neat freak. I enjoy a clean vehicle and take pride in what I own.

I will be posting better pics when the time comes. As of right now I have replaced the following since I purchased her:

-New windshield and trip (repaired rust and leak)
    -Window trim
    -Headlights
    -Rear bumper
    -Trailer hitch
-OEM Radio thanks to memeber DesertRatliff

Recently replaced tires with 31x1050 r15 Cooper Discoverer AT3s
    Also added a Maglite mount.
    Installed Thule roof rack.

If I can find a nice pair of OEM fender flares, I will add them in the future.

    In the beginning...

    After rack install

I posted a few other pics of the old, worn out and rusty bumper in a previous thread I had started.https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/i-have-a-dream.317722/#post-10633477

I'll post a few better ones when I get a chance or when I add an upgrade.

Thanks for looking and any and all advice is accepted.

Very nice -- looks like the white version of my red one.

Looked into powder coating the original wheels and it was pretty expensive so I decided to give plasti dip a try. I am pleased with how it turned out for less than $40. I used a wire wheel to remove as much of the chipping paint as I could on the wheel and then cleaned them well. I dried the wheels off using compressed are so that there was no water whatsoever on the wheel or tire.
I did take the wheel off the vehicle and I did not tape off the tire. Plasti dip is a rubber coating so it didn't bother me that I was spraying rubber, on my rubber tires. You can't barely even tell there was overspray.

    Laying it on thick.

Once it dried, the finish was really smooth. If there is any imperfection in the wheel, it will show up. I used 2 heavy coats and it did not cover damage on the wheel.

I added some new chrome lugnuts to give it a nice look. I was a little hesitant at first to go with a black wheel but in the end I really like the look!

Now that I have a son, I would like to think I can pass this truck along to him when he is of age. In the meantime, I needed to have a few things done so the truck could make it that far. Had the valve cover gaskets replaced along with a new clutch, applicable bearings and a rear main seal. Guy does awesome work and even sent me pictures.
I enjoy working on my truck but not having a lift or air tools makes some things a little time consuming. Only being home for a few months a year I try to get as much time in with my family. This way I can have the larger issues taken care of when I get home and hopefully install some 5100's on the front end.

And yes, I need a new filter housing. The piping cracked at the seam to the filter box. If anyone has one for sale let me know.
